Fall kept edging closer all month

With freezing temperatures almost every morning for the last two weeks, followed by shirt sleeve afternoons, we were spoiled by warmth, blue skies and lovely leaves arranging their leaves artistically under their bare limbs.
But rain fell last night and has continued most of the day, so fall is center stage now and doing its stuff.
I hope the season has been gentle so far where you live. Looking forward to winter?

Ohhh, well, that is not a pleasant sounding October day, but I have seen it in the 90s on Christmas Day there and I know you have too.

Here It has been fine weather recently ."the autumn sky is clear and the air is bracing." as we describe it.However rain and a drop in temperature will be expected over next few days.

It is predicted that we will have a mild winter here. I hope it includes lots of rain to fill the rivers, lakes and reservoirs.

I can't say that I'm looking forward to winter, although I do like the cold and snowy weather around Christmas time and New Year's Day.
The rest of the winter I don't look forward too.

After about a month delay, it seems that fall has finally arrived in Florida, and I couldn't be more excited! I'm tired of hot, humid, rainy days every day! This cool, drier weather is a welcome relief, even if it is late in arriving!
I see that an El Niño has arrived, which is going to affect our winter weather. Looks like you are in for a warmer, drier winter, and we're in for a cooler, wetter winter.

@JamesHxstatic Hey, every little bit of rain helps! But what happens if you don't have a lot of snow this winter? With no runoff from the snow melt in the spring, it could make for drought conditions next year.

@moffittjc Yes, that is a concern every year in the west and northwest too. The ski areas did really poorly last year.

I read that we should have a mild winter and that is good, but I hoping for more rain than last year fill the rivers and reservoirs. Several downpours today.

Nice weather here past couple of days!!! Those leaves are a pretty shade of pink!!! R they from a tree on your street!!! Hope Halloween is warm and colorful!!! NO I'm not ready 4 winter!!!! I'm freezing with just this little cold air!!! Getting ready 4 what's 2 come!!! My aunt says it's going to be a really fridgit winter! Have U heard this!!!

The leaves are from a tree I passed in Portland while walking the Chihuahua. Indications here predict a mild winter.

Here in Florida, we had rain for several days. Next week the sun is out and temps in the 80s but cooler breezes blow.I guess this year I don't have to worry about winter.

It's been very gentle here so far. No, I do not look forward to freezing temps and ice. The only thing I like about snow is how pretty it looks.
I'm not just being cranky. My entire life I've been cold-natured and it's so hard for me to warm up when I get chilled.

We have a lot of damp, cold, rainy weather in winter but snow is fairly unusual. I hope it stays in the mountains.
