Around here sometimes they have a recycling place to take them too. I saw on one of those news shows that you should take out, I think it was the hard drive, and smash it up cause there are ways to get info off of it and you never know if someone will try and get your personal info. I think alot of people just toss them into the trash also. You could probably call around to some computer stores or the trash co and see if they have any suggestions.

;) I think that u can simply trash them..in my country I can do it...but better keep them:) ,because there are many offers, for example: bring an old monitor, and pay something, and you'll get a new one:) So...

Well, you're really not supposed to just toss them out. There's all sorts of the chemicals and whatnot that can leak and pollute. You can donate them or if you have any local e-waste disposal places to take them to, that's a good way to go. I don't know where you are, so I can't give you a local e-waste roundup website, but I can give you the one for LA and maybe that will help. http://www.888cleanla.com

You can give it to somebody who needs an old computer. or give it to those junk seekers or junk shop, theyre the one whi will bust it for you and besides, can you take to see that this old computer became useful too before then your the one crushing it?

If those computer still working , I suggest you to danate them, a lot of our brothers and sisters still don't have a computer. Maybe that would be a big help for them.

Something you might want to check into is freecycle. It's where you post in yahoo groups things you don't want anymore and want to give away. Others do the same thing. Someone might have use for an old computer. You never know. You can look here: http://freecycle.org/ for more information and to find the yahoo group for your area.

Well if you have personal info on them (any chance of this) I say get them wiped clean first.. Stranger things have happened when people thought they didn't and took them to the dump and then people got their info. In this day and age with some much identity theft- Its better to be safe than sorry! I just got rid of my old one. I took the keyboard, monitor, mouse, and printer to goodwill. I took the harddrive to work and had them erase everything and then reboot it. Then I dropped it off at goodwill.. So it was like a fresh computer for the next person.
