Supper is on the stove

I chopped onions and celery and mushrooms up, sauteing them in a combination of olive oil and butter. There was a packet of long grain and wild rice on my cupboard shelf. Into the pot it went. I opened a can of tuna, added that, some liquid, and about a half cup of peas. When it is heated through it will be time to eat. Simple, hopefully tasty.

I had something similar to what you had. I had rice with mixed veggies, steamed in the microwave with crab sticks chopped up and mixed in, and some Yum Yum sauce.

Sounds delicious. I have a casserole I always make using egg noodles, tuna fish and Campbells Cheddar Cheese soup. Tuna is always good to add to different foods.

I really like tuna. Hubby would not eat the noodles, he only eats my lasagna, no other pasta. I wonder if that would work with shredded hash browns, or even spaghetti squash.

So you throw the rice in raw? Just curious. I have never tried that. I have some wild rice sitting around waiting to be used.

No, this was a seasoned packet of already cooked rice. I think it would be better if I were to cook and season my own to put in. Anything cooked from scratch is usually better. My husband had said he wanted to try wild rice so I got this small packet, just in case he did not like it.

Hubby is not overly wild about mushrooms except in some dishes. They are supposed to be very good for you, but there are lots of people who dislike them.

This was long grain and wild rice. I only check my glucose levels fasting in the morning. My numbers were much lower than usual, but I woke up really hungry.
