Bat wings, maggots, and quicksand

What a scrumptious dinner indeed!
My mom wanted to be cute and have a Halloween dinner so she was looking online for inspiration. She came across bat wings, which is chicken wing just dyed black.
We didn't have any black food coloring, so we just had them with bbq and had them burnt a little bit. Because we really like crispy chicken.
Something I always like with bbq chicken is mac n cheese, so I said that those are maggots.
Lastly we had applesauce and thus is our quicksand.
Nothing like having a spooky take on a normal dinner haha!

Each to their own! I suppose it is better to use one's imagination in this way than to really try to eat bats' wings and maggots. Having said that, you would probably get more sustenance from a maggot than a bat's wing, which is only a piece of skin.

@DesirousDreamer Native Australians often eat witchetty grubs, which are not unlike maggots.

@indexer I understand grubs, but I imagine maggots are just like fiber maybe since gnats have fiber
