Five Below Store

Has anyone heard of this store? It may be a US only store but I am not sure. On our way to go walking last weekend, my friend made me stop into this store. It was weird but interesting. Everything there is $5 or less - with a lot of $2 and $3 items as well. Kind of like a more upscale Dollar Store I guess. This doesn’t seem like a store where you go looking for specific things like you might at the Dollar Tree. It has a random assortment of clothes and shoes (mostly hats, scarves and mittens that I saw and a few pairs of shoes), a lot of random toiletry and bath/shower items (I resisted to buy the bath Bombs), a giant candy section and some electronics related things as well (phone cases etc). Also a rather large selection of toys. It was my first time in this store - I bought some incense (I don’t even burn incense so not sure why, but it smelled really good!), and two single use lavender face masks just for fun (total: $4). Have you ever been to this store?

No, we don't even have a dollar store on Oahu any longer. Hope they both come to Hawaii soon to help stretch our budget.

Yeah! Although this shop doesn’t really have necessities like Dollar stores do. I wonder why they don’t have a dollar store in Oahu?!

@maezee I really don't know...when they open they stay for a year or 2 and then close up. We really need one on Oahu too.

When I was on holiday in the US I did visit shops that had 2 dollar and one dollar items. There was a special section for them.

Oh I see. Big box stores used to have a dollar and two dollar section. I always like them even though sometimes you do get what you pay for!

@maezee I bought a whole lot of give 'aways'. Everyone expects gifts when one returns from a foreign holiday (lol)

I don’t think we have that here but that sounds like my kind of store.

I wonder how long that store will last. Be careful what you buy, some of them may not even new.

@Letranknight2015 @maezee Five Below has been open for a long time, with over 700 stores in the US. Everything they sell is brand new, nothing used. I've been shopping there for many years.

Those stores only exist in the United States, I wanted to check their site, they do not even allow to Europeans to access their site. Very nice attitude.

We go now and then maybe a few times a year. Describing it as a more upscale Dollar store is a good way to picture it. I can get most the things in this store lower proceed some where else but sometimes I just go to browse and find some unique items.

We have one close by and although it isn't a store I'd frequent but my grandchildren love it.

My sister and I went to the local one once. We were in and out in like 2 minutes. Not our type of store.

Yes, a bunch of times. Both here, and when at my boyfriends in another state. Have bought everything from candy and toys to backpacks and shirts.
