Do You Prefer Sunrises or Sunsets?

Rupert, Idaho
November 3, 2018 3:15pm CST
I have been taking more sunrise photos lately since I seem to be catching them easier than sunsets. So that made me wonder which does everyone prefer: sunsets or sunrises? This photo was taken one morning when taking my son to school (so around 7:50 A.M).

I love them both, Courtney, but I think dawn just has the edge as far as I am concerned. However, I get to see a lot more sunsets as I'm not a great morning person!

Both have their own special-ness to them. But I hear you there! :) And I am not a morning person either...but seeing more sunrises lately I see just how amazing they are as well!

@MommyOfEli2013 Yeah that's a point. From here on till the end of winter, there'll be a lot more sunrises in evidence around here

@NormanDarlo Well with the time change over here...I may miss the sunrises again. But that is good to hear about the sunrises there!

I don't have a preference as I find beauty in both, but it seems I have better luck catching sunsets than I do sunrises. The photo attached is one I currently have available on Pixabay of sunset on the Neuse River near New Bern, NC.

@MommyOfEli2013 I set up on the end of the dock with my tripod and took several dozen pictures as the sun was setting to get that one shot. Thank goodness for digital cameras.

@MommyOfEli2013 I am not always up to see the sun go down. I am up to see the sun come out in the morning.

I like sunset because I'm allergic to sun and don't feel good in day time. Night is always calming for me.

I'm sorry to hear that sunsets make you feel sad....maybe it's because it means the day is ending?

@LovelyRB I think it is always sad when the sunset goes away...but I do enjoy them while they are there.

@MommyOfEli2013 yeah, that could be the reason and maybe it's getting darker while you are watching sunset..

I have to agree with that..the colors can be so amazing in a sunset! Last night I saw one that turned the sky pink for a while though and that was magical.

I prefer sunrises to sunsets, because sunrises signify that a new day has commenced. Additionally, am usually more energetic in the morning compared to in the evening. Therefore, most of the times, am usually in a better mood in the morning than in the evening.
