There are areas in the Himalayan north of India in Kashmir, Ladakh, Manali, Lahaul -Spiti, Kullu(Himachal Pradesh) and Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Gangotri (Uttarakhand ) that get heavy snowfall in winters. Yet that happens from December onwards. However many of these areas have got unexpected heavy snowfall and bitter cold. Conditions would be quite tough for the people there. And there are indications that we in the Plains could have a tough wintertime! Tourists are less these days that

I am inclined to believe that we can't blame global warming for all our woes. Part of it, yes, but may be earth's axis has tilted just that bit...and that may again be due to sun losing its energy over the years, after all every furnace needs fuel, and sun is also not a perpetual entity. As its mass decreases, we will all start feeling the impact ..because orbits will start decreasing in size. As orbits decrease, we will feel more heat in some parts, while the orbit of mars and jupiter and other planets will bring in colder climate during rotation in some parts. Jupiter, saturn, neptune, uranus, and pluto will have higher impact, they will slip down more rapidly, because there is a threshold of energy that is needed to keep planets rotating in some place. when that gets used up by lower planets, larger ones will start moving downwards more rapidly, but of course, based on their masses. Their own moons might be engulfed by them, as energy fails to keep the moons at that distance. The process may take a few 1000 centuries... the only possible thing is, to capture some meteor and hurl it towards sun.. may be when mercury is consumed by sun, we will have respite but we may not be around to know that. It could be pluto that gets eaten away first. Just my weird way of thinking...I can't prove any of this..of course nor is it from some study. But I believe it is something like this.

@mayka123 Western India too remains dry for most of the winters I suppose? Or does your place gets any rains?
