I Am Helping Bring Turkeys

So, it is the month of November. I was very hardly active last month. But a LOT of MyLotters will be celebrating Thanksgiving this month and need any dollars they can get to help bring some turkeys and trimmings to the table. So, to that end, my plan is to be VERY ACTIVE this month. I will be all over the place, even scrolling down and finding much older posts to respond to. It's on. This is a month of HEAVY MyLotting to be conducted by the likes of me. Hopefully there will be lots of new discussions to deal with, and a lot of activity to deal with... Onward and upward. Let's get this done. I will be quite ubiquitous here. And an early Happy Thanksgiving to all. I hope to help pay for a few turkeys here.

@porwest Ha ha! I should have read all the comments first, as I just mentioned the Christmas ham thing. We used to have a prime rib roast on Yule, but now the household is enormous and I think it would be far too expensive to have that particular cut of meat for 10 people. I'm trying to think of something equally fancy, but far less expensive. The roast also had the benefit of being fairly hands-off as well, so I didn't have to work very much in the kitchen.

Dammit. You are right. Totally slipped my mind. Oh well, maybe a Christmas ham? You don't want to have turkey two holidays in a row do you?

Usually around here the stores will make you spend about $50 to get a turkey for about 29 cents a pound. I usually only take advantage of it if I actually need the other stuff.

I will probably buy one on sale and freeze it for later in the year. This year my sister and brother-in-law are doing the turkey. But if I buy one you can bet it will be a big, fat, juicy one.

@JudyEv Yes. There is always that. If that doesn't motivate me what else will?

With you, sir, I will have to go through your old posts and find a way to respond since I don't watch much TV. I bet I can do it and give you a run for your money. In the end you might be able to buy a can of cranberry sauce or something.

@spiderdust Pumpkin pie is also very good, with a heaping scoop of whipped cream on top to boot. Yummy stuff.

I am not always a huge fan of turkey in general. But give me all those trimmings. Man. Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday, and yes...I AM a glutton.

I wonder if it worked and I made a contribution to at least one turkey? Probably not. But it did give me something fun to post about and an incentive to get around the site more than usual. For whatever any of it was worth. lol

Hi Jim and Happy Thanksgiving a bit early. I've been a bit negligent too when it comes to myLotting recently.

Since last month's earnings would go towards Thanksgiving, I'm thinking of this month's earnings as paying for the Christmas ham.

You are exactly right about that @spiderdust. I didn't think about that until @andriaperry brought it up. I felt like I had a Homer Simpson "D'oh!" moment there.

I just got caught up in a busy month. I'm trying to set aside more free time in November, and yes...frequent my faves around this joint. You are one of them. A penny here and penny here. I like to do what I can.

I actually think I won't buy one this year. Cheap though they may well be this time of year, they just take up too much room in the freezer.
