Another kangaroo video

Following a comment on my YouTube clip of the joey kangaroo practising his hopping, someone commented that they would like to see an adult hopping. I remembered that I had a short clip of a big buck which was paying attention to one of the few does that seems quite comfortable in our presence. However eventually the tension got too much for the buck and he took off clearing quite a high fence in the process.
The joey following him has become confused and thinks it is following its mother. The joey goes through the single wire fence quite easily. This buck had a floppy ear. No doubt it was injured in a fight. I haven’t seen him around lately but perhaps the ear has repaired itself. The photo is of the buck but on a different day.
By freezing the frames we could see how he jumped the fence. I would have thought he’d tuck his legs up under his body but he throws his legs out behind.

Some European countries have kangaroos in their zoos and animal parks. They seem to cope with a variety of climates.

@ilocosboy That surprises me a bit because we have roos in our tropical areas.

Maybe they're not adaptable to our climate because even zoos here have no kangaroos.

He does. He looks very powerful. No wonder the fence was no problem for him.

They look a lot more fun to watch than deer.

They are not always doing something exciting. Mostly just eating and sleeping.

The roo in the photo has a dippy expression like he is hungover!
