I asked this because awhile ago we had a meeting with the owner of our station-- the prime boss. He is mad because of some big mistakes our station committed and which I won't detail. He's angry because he's face turned reddish. But his approach, his voice is subtle. He's not yelling or cursing or talking very loud voice. He's in control of his emotions. He talked so soft but his words are choosen, heavy that you could be still intimidated to talk. He words would strike you. I like that kind of boss.

I don't get upset about anything anymore. Maybe this ability comes with age. I stay calm under all circumstance appreciating that God is watching all and I have to wait for him to solve our problems.

Very positive outlook and I'm so amenable. And I think am also getting into it as my age is going in now.

Sometimes one can't avoid it at the spur of the moment. A few weeks ago, I was talking to one of the site engineers of our hotel project and we talked about his bosses who were three brothers. The oldest of the three would speak out words that would penetrate deep down and employees always tiptoed in his presence. He is often soft spoken though and after he lets out his anger, everything would be fine. The second brother would stomp his feet and scratch his head if anger but after everything everything would be fine and he does not hold grudges on his employees. The third brother who is the project manager of our hotel project is very technical and gives the employees a long lecture but, just like his brothers, everything goes well after he has lectured his employees. Of the three, the older one is an engineer and the two are architects. They have another brother who is a business graduate in the U.S. and two others who are accountants, one of whom was a high official of SGV before.

@ilocosboy Yes, they don't hold grudges. Sort of like "trabaho lang" :) Probably the reason that many of their engineers are sticking it out with them even if they are strict.

He knows how to handle and express his anger in a more subtle but strong way. Yes, such a nice boss.

Yes I believe taking a deep breath is one of the best way to control our anger. I'm also doing it and its effective most of the times.

yes the boss is very nice, because he really can control his emotions well, and in my opinion there are rarely people who when angry can control their emotions

It’s hard for me to control my emotions when I am extremely mad. I admire your boss for staying composed despite the situation

As one of member had commented, maybe it comes with age because he's already 70 years old.
