Another UFO Post!

Five years ago I participated in some block swaps and some fabric swaps.
The blocks were put aside as were the 10 inch squares to deal with at a later date.
The overall colour theme was autumn.
Several times I've pulled out the blocks and fabrics, trying to think of a way to make good use of them. They've always been returned to the box as my musings just weren't inspiring.
This week, I said, Enough! Time to tackle this project.
My design wall (a white bedsheet) was hung and I began to play.
It's now 75% assembled and I'm already planning the hand quilting.
I knew I'd come up with something, if I waited long enough!

I'd hoped to get the front done tonight...but ended up on the phone with my daughter for an hour. Oh well....there's always tomorrow.

The original blocks...6 dresdens and 6 log cabin blocks were done in autumn colours. I just did my best to carry those colours throughout the quilt. I have a rich brown for the back.

I'm mostly happy with how it's coming together. I wish I had planned the inner border a little differently...but it'll do. Now to get the rest of the rows sewn on.

Some of our best ideas come out when we put the project away for a little while. This is very pretty!

Thank you. I found a way to use the blocks that was pleasing to me and made a substantial size quilt. I hope to begin quilting it in the next week or two.
