Confession Time (about food)

I know a while back I posted how I was going to be eating low carb, but then I pretty quickly got off track again....I just chose a bad time to start back on my low carb lifestyle. I AM going to get back to it after this weekend...even though we will be celebrating my son's birthday with his grandparents. I will take a cheat MEAL that day and maybe have 1 piece of cake...but other wise I am going to be sticking to the low carb WOE (way of eating). Eating these high carb meals are delicious, but I instantly feel how sick it makes me. For example, today I had a higher carb breakfast; eggs, sausage, hash browns and a pancake. I did work out after, but my sugar after was over 200. Not good at all! So I NEED to get back to low carb eating. I know some have suggested to just eat in moderation, but I have done that, and have even tried the ADA's diet and that is just too many carbs for me personally. Do you eat a low carb diet, or do you have no problems with carbs?

You have to have a treat every now and then. You will be fine I am sure. I do not watch my carbs. I always say everything is about moderation.

That's great that moderation works for you, I would love to not have to watch carbs. But yes, a treat every once in a while is okay...just not these cheat weeks like I have been having.

Best of luck to you. I don’t follow a specific diet but eat only healthy foods with an occasional treat. But once you get into a groove/routine it is so much easier than starting out. Best of luck!

Thank you very much, and yes once I do it for a little while and get used to it it'll be a lot easier. That's great though that you eat healthy foods with an occasional treat. Got to let yourself have one sometimes!

You could have skipped the pancakes and probably syrup? That would have kept your sugar much lower and still had a good breakfast.

I didn't have syrup actually, but yes I could have skipped that. In the future if I get that meal and am on plan I will get 2 orders of eggs and sausage and bacon. Perfectly low carb then! But I intended on not being on plan this week.

I usually try to limit my carbs. I don't totally eliminate them but I try not to eat them with each meal.

That's a great idea to try not to eat them with each meal but still have some.

Nobody needs carbs....our body can make the "glucose" it needs from protein. I have researched this for a long time. But if you like carbs and they don't make you sick then that's great and I wish they didn't make me sick!
