Attempted entry

While I was Mylotting this afternoon (a few minutes ago), I noticed a boy (probably 15) pass by. I was curious so I observed where he was going because he kept looking around. I was then suspicious because after a few minutes he was gone and should have come back because he was going to a deadend at our neighbor's house. I went to our garage and peeped out and saw the boy climb the fence of our neighbor. I therefore shouted at him asking what was his intention. He said he was looking for someone by the name of Miguel whom he said was working there. I told him he should have not climbed the fence because he could be shot and he would have no defense in court because it was intrusion into private property. When I asked for his name and where he lived, I secretly took a photo of him just in case. I looked for my former neighbor's name on FB and sent her a message asking to confirm if they have a houseboy by the name of Miguel. Nobody stays actually in their house here because they transferred to a new house they built in a neighboring town.

I had similar incident like this several years back. There were two boys attempted to climb in the terrace in our former house but they were not successful because the part is already weak and has electrical wiring that if they would pursue, they would end falling. However, they were also seen by our neighbors and run away.

Running away proves they are guilty of doing something bad. I think that should teach them some lesson not to do it again because they could be seen.

@rsa101: Yes that's true. Since they could not do their entry at the front door because its facing on the way and it is not possible to do the breaking without being notice by other people. They thought, they could do their plan if they could climbed in the terrace because they won't be notice if they would break the door in there.

@sofssu This morning while I was cutting grass, a guy with a backback passed by and asked if I wanted to but a sander or a grass cutter. He look like an addict. Probably he's spying but I took note of his face. When Christmas is approaching, thieves and robbers abound.

Good thing you have seen him and told him that. That will scare him and not come back anymore. Nowadays, thieves as still young.

@SIMPLYD Thanks for being thoughtful, Ms. LT. I'm sure he knew nobody was home because the padlock can be seen on the gate.

He looks like an addict. The house owner sent me a PM that they do not have a houseboy named Miguel.

Thankfully Janet but another guy jumped over the fence of another neighbor early dawn today probably wanting to haul 3 big balikbayan boxes in our neighbor's garage because a tricycle also came inside the village at that time. He may have sensed that someone was awake so he jumped out and walked casually out of the village. I told the neighbor's daughter that she should have shouted to awaken us. It was already about 5AM. I'm supposed to have my early morning walk at 4:30 but I did not go because I'm still having a slight fever.

@sunrisefan Sorry you aren't well Nando, hope you recover soon. Are robberies common in your area?

@jaboUK Thanks for the concern, Janet. No robberies are not common in our village. It's only now that this is happening though we have experienced something like this long before. There was another entry in another neighbor's premises at about 5AM and the thief probably sensed someone was awoke so he walked away. He has probably planning to cart away 3 big balikbayan boxes of our neighbor placed in their garage.

Seems a bit sketchy, has the person responded yet? I sure do hope that he was just looking for a friend because it is not fun to accuse someone, but never can be too careful.

@DesirousDreamer No, I did not report to the police because the boy has not yet stolen anything. I'm sure the police would just let him go. However, I took a picture of him.

The house owner already replied to my message that they do not have a houseboy bearing the name Miguel who the attempted robber was looking for.

Seems like he was really a thief, Ms. Thelma because the house owner replied to my PM denying they have a houseboy named Miguel who the attempted thief said was working there. Another neighbor on whose fence the boy really attempted to jump over said that the boy told him the houseboy of the first neighbor was his brother. I also showed the photo to my friend and he said he is familiar with the boy's face and that they also caught him at his construction site.

@thelme55 Yes, it's good that I'm in the house most of the time except when there's a scheduled concrete pouring at the hotel project site in which case I would be going to witness. I have ordered 3 alarms with motion sensors from Shopee and the items are on its way here. I'm sure these alarms will wake the neighborhodd up and drive away bad elements seeking to burglarize our homes.

@sunrisefan so that boy was trying to burglar the house of your neighbor. It was really good that you saw him.

That was intense. I think that should be reported to your nearest barangay to have the house checked. I think he has no right to just jump in anyone's fence even if he knows that person it is always prompt to enter through their gate and not on the side of the house.

@sunrisefan Stay safe I guess that one is trying to find something to steal from that abandoned house. It just happened that you caught him in the act and he just made alibi to lessen your being suspicious about him.

@sol_cee Not all the time because one time a robber jumped over our fence and stole some items and our neighbor saw him, the neighbor did not give me a ring. Actually two neighbors - the one in front and another on the side. The two of them saw someone jump over our fence.

Another possible thief early down today on another neighbor. The robber was probably planning to haul 3 balikbayan boxes because a tricycle also came inside the village. However, he might have sense that someone was awake to he jumped out of their fence.
