Like all the posts in this series before it, and all of them after. This discussion contains key plot line spoilers for the show. If you are watching the show and dont want to know the specifics for this character's demise, turn around and do not read furthrer. I was a little late coming to the Sons of Anarchy party. I had seen a few episodes, but didn't watch the whole series until last year. I instantly fell in love with the insanity of the show and the characters. One of the characters that I loved the most was Tara. She was a doctor and became the wife of the main character of the show Jax Teller. She was also the mother of his boys, helping raise his son from his first marriage. There was a lot of backlash at her becoming Jax's wife, most of the backlash coming from Jax's mother Gemma. This comes to a head at the end of season six when Tara is killed by Gemma in her kitchen. Gemma starts by trying to drown her and when that doesn't work out, she stabs her multiple times in the back of the head with a BBQ fork. Leaving her gushing blood after she collapses on the floor. Jax later comes into the house and finds his wifes body. Because of the tension between Gemma and Tara for the whole series, this death is awfully dramatic. I actually cried when I watched this scene unfold, especially when Jax discovered it. There is no shortage of deaths throughout the seven seasons of SOA, and a couple others might appear during this series (especially since I haven't decided yet how long I will make this series), but this whole really did surprise and shock me. Did you watch SOA? Were you surprised by this death?

My brother was a big fan of the show, but I didn’t watch it.

Its a really good show. If you ever get the chance try watching at least the first couple of shows. There is a spin off now.

It is always a surprise when a main character goes down but the killing set up Gemma's ultimate fate.

@thislittlepennyearns Gemma was a compelling character. You have to remember SOA was inspired by Shakespeare and Hamlet.

@JohnRoberts I know. They should have had Ed O'NEILL guest star and kill Gemma. It would of be a nice nod to their prior careers.
