It Just Becomes Ridiculous

So, Showtime is doing a miniseries about Roger Ailes, former chairman and CEO of Fox News who became entangled in some sexual harassment scandals which ultimately lead to his ousting. Russel Crowe will play the former media executive in the show. But why Roger Ailes? Why Fox News? Because Hollywood is simply all too focused on conservatives who do wrong, and they struggle constantly to point these things out. Why not a show about Bill Cosby? Why not do an exposé on Harvey Weinstein? Heck, he was great friends with the Clintons...and speaking of the Clintons...why not single out old Billy boy? He certainly had his share of questionable romps. By the way, ALL of these were MUCH bigger stories and MUCH more scandalous and obscene than anything Roger Ailes did. It's just more Fox News bashing and conservative bashing. Always remember that when you point your finger at someone, you have three fingers pointing back at you. I think the American people get it, though. I really do. But it just becomes ridiculous and ridiculously obvious what the aim is here.

Yep. The one thing that bothers me most about media in general is that the rest of the world and even our own citizens tend to judge our people based on what they see on the screen. Big mistake, most of us are far smarter than that. At least that is my hope.

Well, Trump won the presidency, and there was no blue wave in the midterms, so I think that CAN give us great hope that no matter what the media tries to convey, people are seeing through it. And I also think people are becoming tired of it as well.

@porwest Yeah, I've already got to that point. Just don't care what any of the talking heads are saying. Maybe soon everyone else will feel that way as well and move on to taking care of themselves never mind the rest.

Great post, Jim. I think a lot of liberals really don't believe conservatives have any intelligence at all.

Nah, I'm a "career Liberal," but I know (or at lest believe) that there are "false meme" idiots and inflexibe thinkers on both sides.

Jim, you ignorant sl*t. Everyone knows that half of the population is below average, and all are Republicans. I know because I just read it in a false meme post on Facebook.

I am certain you would not find him sexy at all in the role. He's fattened himself up.

@porwest Quite so. But we're becoming entirely to conciliatory (to quote the Monty Python sketch I sent elsewhere). Shall we proceed with arguing? Heh. I have to take a break for a snack. No new arguments right now. Sorry.

Since the majority of Hollywood celebrities and filmmakers speaking out are liberal leaning it comes as no surprise. Even Gomer Pyle, famous TV marine famous for his "Surprise, surprise" would be unimpressed with this latest programming
