I Gotta Get Out My Girlfinder - Girlfinder Songs

While the sport of skiing is popular here in Colorado, and the likes of Utah and Vermont, it isn't exactly something that everyone everywhere does, usually due to a lack of snow, mountains, or an aversion to the cold. Yet every so often, Hollywood trots out a ski comedy, films full of frat boy humor and great skiing. I will not argue about this, because there is no argument: 1984's Hot Dog: The Movie is hands down the best of the lot. What does this have to do with a music series? Early in Hot Dog, the main characters, Harken Banks (Patrick Hauser,) and Sunny (Tracy N. Smith) walk into a Squaw Valley honky tonk, right before the night's MC holds a wet t-shirt contest. Needing more girls than the few participants already onstage, the host declares that "I gotta get out my girlfinder!" He then unzips his pants and pulls out his long...hard...flashlight. Awhile back, I did a series about my favorite bands fronted by women. In this instance, these are songs sung by girls. I stayed away from artists that I use a lot, such as Blondie, The Pretenders, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Sonic Youth. In fact, it's possible that some of you might have only heard of a few of these. Linked below is an example, a song that I didn't include since I've used it a few times in the past. I also went with 20 songs. After all, a guy shouldn't waste his girlfinder on just 10 songs, now should he?
Why was this not yet on YouTube?

Hot Dog? Back in the day, a really good skier that showed off a lot was called a "hot dog." I never became good enough to earn that description!

Sneaker Pimps weren't really well known within the mainstream. They got their name from the Beastie Boys. The Beasties had guys that would scour the cities for new, hip sneakers when they were on tour. Called them "Sneaker Pimps."

Can't say I ever seen a ski movie and not even heard of Hot Dog. Got a feeling this is one of those teen movies

They are kind of aimed at a younger audience, but in this case, the humor is not so moronic. And the skiing is fantastic.
