Time to get out the old girlfinder. It's just a musical series consisting of songs that I like that happen to be sung by girls. We are at #20: "What's a Girl to Do?" by Bat for Lashes. Bat for Lashes is the stage name of London singer/songwriter Natasha Khan (she is also the vocalist for the British rock band, Sexwitch, a collaboration between Khan and the English band, Toy.) A multi-instrumentalist (particularly, but not limited to, keyboard-oriented instruments,) Kahn's work has been compared to the likes of Siouxsie Sioux, Bjork, Kate Bush, Annie Lennox, and Tori Amos. "What's a Girl to Do?" was a single from Bat for Lashes' 2006 debut album, Fur and Gold. Despite a really cool video featuring Kahn singing while riding a BMX bike down the street while BMX pro's perform synchronized stunts behind her (which has been pulled from You Tube for some reason,) the single only charted in the UK, and only at #141 at that. Even so, it's a pretty damn cool tune, and what the hell does the music-buying public know at times anyway? "Convoy" once hit #2 in the UK. I'll take "What's a Girl to Do?" 10 times out of ten. (What IS a girl to do info verified by Wikipedia)

It seems as though she's pretty much got an "alternative music" following. Not so much mainstream.

I love how this goes through a lot of genres...there's some 60s feel and the 80s vibe.

She does get a sort of 60's thing going at times, now that you mention it.
