I cannot believe our luck this week

Quick review: On Monday this week we were driving our Impala. We did some errands and were going to go to a doctor's appointment. We had a flat tire, on the traffic side of the car. We have emergency road service added to our insurance. A service truck came out, and put our spare on. We bought a new tire. Today is Saturday. The battery on our van has not been holding a charge. Hubby charged it, and wanted to go for a drive and get gas. He also wanted to go on to Wichita and eat at Cracker Barrel. We were almost to Wichita and the car briefly made a strange sound. It was alarming enough that we turned around. We were going to try to make it home. We did not make it.The alternator quit. Emergency road service twice in one week. How lucky can you get. While we waited for the wrecker, Bob called O'Reilly's and ordered the part. The wrecker picked us up, and loaded up the van. We stopped at the parts store to get the part on our way through town. Bob will have our mechanic fix it when he can. I am lucky to have emergency road service on my policy.

You had some week. I keep AAA service but haven't needed it with my truck yet. I do use it for travel, books, discounts etc but it's there in case.

This is on our regular car insurance and costs about $5 per year per vehicle. I am glad to have it.

@GardenGerty That is an awesome price. We have some towing on ours too but I like the extras I get with AAA like discounts at amusement parks, Payless shoes, car rentals, hotels, and more. It pays for itself and more. Sometimes I use it for Pleasant Holidays to book trips to Hawaii or other locals.

We have AAA - for the times I have needed their help, I am soooooo glad all I had to do was call them up and they were there in less than a half hour. I have no clue what to do when a car doesn't do what it's supposed to do - having that service is more than handy!

Yes. Especially now with the cell phone. Years ago it was not that easy.

You seem to have plenty of car problems. We also have emergency road service covered with our insurance, you never know.

While hubby has been sick he has not been keeping up as well with the cars. And we drive lots of miles each year, giving more opportunity for trouble.

Something similar happened to us a few weeks ago. We also have triple a which we never need but we were thankful when we had to call a wrecker. Hope your and our car won’t need more work anytime soon.

This is just hooked with our regular car insurance and is very reasonable. I hope all the cars have the issues out of their system.

Oh wow, that sounds like a crazy week! Our alternator quit a few months back. Luckily we were at my grandparents house when it happened so they helped us get it to a car place that would fix it.

Twice in a week. You cashed out on your good karma. Good that you have emergency road service.

It is a really good buy. When I first got it they told me that if they had to dig me out of snow that would even be covered.

Our van is in our driveway, we have to make arrangements to get it fixed. We have the new alternator for it, though.
