Today I learnt From YouTube

Way back in May I took a trip to Shrewsbury, partly to revisit old stomping grounds, but mainly to explore, by bike, the, mostly, disappeared Shrewsbury to Newport Canal and particularly the oldest metal aqueduct in the world. Which as luck would have it was next to a pub! Because of a puncture and losing my mini toolkit my journey was cut short, but it was still a good little adventure. Today I discovered, while watching YouTube no less, that I had actually been cycling on the towpath of the defunct canal. As it was raining there was a long, swampy, puddle in the depression on my left was actually the path of the defunct canal. The YouTube video was also shot in the rain, so I could recognise it immediately. So who knew, YouTube is a good place to do some research! The picture shows my trusty folding bike on a purpose built cycling path, that follows the old towpath. This was about six miles before my puncture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHquoBlmePk

@arthurchappell Probably a limited edition speciality. On the negitive side, my favourite pub had closed, but it wasn't the same after they modernised it

@MALUSE It is part of the marketing by Brompton and is part of series. I rather like them. Like Wil, in the video, I keep mine close to the door for a quick getaway!

It is Brompton folding bike. It collapses into a small size. I take with me on the trains and buses, then use it to get about at the destination. They have a bit of a cult following and I am one of the Brompton faithful!

I like your folding bike, very nice. YouTube is often a very useful site where to find interesting videos. I am glad you used "learnt" instead of "learned" I started to think I was wrong using learnt.

@Ronrybs I looked it is correct. The Americans use more the other "version", they surely made it easy to make all the verb regular verbs.

We have friends who live near Shrewsbury and we have been to see the Iron Bridge. It's a lovely area. And that's a groovy looking bike.

@Ronrybs We had two Americans stay with us. They were couch-surfers and had ridden their bikes across the Nullarbor. They had also done numerous other trips on their bikes. Their bikes folded up too and went on the plane as carry-on luggage but they didn't look like yours - the bikes, not the people. The wheels must be a bit smaller than standard bikes surely or they wouldn't fit in the overhead plane lockers.

@JudyEv On the Brompton the wheels are 16 inches, that seems pretty standard on most these folders. There are some that are 20 and possibly 24 inches. Can't say I recognise the bikes in your piccie, but I am not an expert on these things!

Love Iron Bridge. For my next trip I am thinking of making it longer and taking a pedal to the Bridge, as well as the earlier planned visits. I could not find an Oz specific Brompton video, but LA is pretty close... ish! I do love Bromptons and take it on the train or bus for getting about at the other end

@Ronrybs I can watch in on my Kindle, phone or laptop. And the TV as well, but I dont use it on the tv much. Cause that involves switching cables and turning the Wii on.

Interesting to note the signs have the horse, bike and person pointing the right way for each sign, even if the justification of the text is odd on the left one.
