Got a Newspaper subscription delievery for Sundays and Wednesdays. Yea. We got a new subscription to Dallas Morning News home delivery for only 20 bucks for 13 weeks, Sundays and Wednesdays. My wife asked if it would be possible to have the paper put on the front porch as she has trouble walking and would like to be able to get the newspaper that way. Well, the lady was nice and said, Yes, that is no problem. Last night we both woke up to the loud sound of something hitting and knocking over a tall clay vase of flowers on the front porch. I went out to look and yep, we got our first Sunday newspaper. Yea. But, the paper boy managed to knock over that vase and it had fallen down on one of the porch chairs, that fortunately caught it. If that vase had fallen all the way it would have broken up into pieces. I will have to clear things up with the newspaper people by asking that they try not to throw the paper on the porch because the next time it might hit the front window and break a window glass. Funny but the guy got out of his car, and instead of placing the paper on the porch or the steps, he stood away from our porch, took aim and scored 3 points by hitting the target, the clay vase on the porch that fell over and got nearly broken.

Those guys never walk up with the papers, they always toss from the street which is why we stopped deliveries years ago. One time they threw ours and broke the glass in my door and they refused to pay for it. Good luck.

OMG! That's not good at all. Sorry you got such bad luck and I understand why you stopped getting it. I will have to call them up and plead with them to just throw it in the freeking driveway, if that won't be TOO MUCH TROUBLE.

@cintol , I will have a talk with the paper people tomorrow. I can't have them breaking our windows next time. I got just a few days until the Wednesday paper gets thrown.

@lookatdesktop Yeah, the carriers don't seem to care, half of them don't even stop the car on the way by, they just toss from the car windows on their way by.

Here also newspaper delivery boys throw newspapers by folding them with a rubber band and throwing like a missile, especially for individual houses. Things are better for Apartment complexes where newspaper is put in front of each house.

Hmm. I think the paper boy needs to improve on his aim. He could easily just toss it on top of our house.

A paper can cause a lot of damage. I just buy a paper when I want to read it.

I hate driving all the way to get one and my wife likes reading it, I don't read the paper. Got plenty to read and watch online. I mean, I spend all the time on YouTube, myLot and Facebook these days. LOL

At least the vase didn't break. That's a mini-miracle in itself.

@xander6464 You know, I will do just that. It would be stupid if I did not in fact move it out of the path of that paper um person. LOL I could not get hold of them today as it has been a bit busy with visitors these past few days, from out of town and such. I might need to put up a large steel piece of sheet metal over the front window. Just kidding but it might require a large box with a sign over head that reads: PLEASE PUT PAPER IN BOX.

The guy or girl! I’ve never seen him or her, places our paperat our front door on the door mat. Once in awhile he forgets us and Leo has to call the paper. They always send out another one later in the day. When we lived in a house the guy who delivered the paper always tossed it from the street but he never broke anything.

If we get the paper here it would be left by the mailbox. But with that kind of route I would complain before he does break something.

It's like he did it out of spite, with an attitude. I mean it was the first delivery day for us and not a good start in my opinion. Just cause we get a special promo going for 20 bucks for 13 weeks so maybe they think we should also get discount service also.

I didn't know they had people still delivering that way. I guess it's been a long time since I subscribed. Glad it didn't break your vase.

I'm sorry to hear that and I know how it is as I did a paper route for a year, there were certain papers we could throw but there was nothing on the porch and others has a paper box to place it in out by the road.

Well, it's because our next door neighbor steels our papers all the time. We were getting a free paper called ALDIA and BRIEFING and they had stuff in Spanish and some coupons and so on. The neighbor always sneaks out in our front yard early to pick up ours on Wednesdays to get the coupons. So I really have to be on watch to make sure that don't happen with the paid for Morning Newspaper.

@hillhjill , That just shows that the paper boy can and should do a better job of it. Just don't care enough and has not enough pride in their job performance is all.
