What's the best time for oatmeal?

Philippines

I know that most of you eat oat-meal for break fast. I wonder what are other ingredients you usually add? Before I only add hot water which was instructed on the sachet. But grandma is something else, she adds both milk and that coffee creamer I mentioned in my last post. She states that's it's for the taste Looks like she had me convinced that I added something on it too. Would you prefer the one that requires two minutes to cook or the instant hot water thing?

Hi, @Letranknight2015 In the morning, but works great at night when you starving. In morning because can go damn near forever to get what you need to do accomplished.

I prefer having it in the morning. It should be instant as much as possible.

I eat any kind of oats -- instant, quick cooking, whole rolled oats. I like to have them middle of the morning. It's okay to have them anytime of the day but if you're after weight loss and detox, it's best to eat your oatmeal at night. Follow with lots of water after eating. I usually just add a little condensed milk or honey to my oatmeal. If there's fruit available, I throw them in too. I prefer bananas and papaya.

@Letranknight2015 whole rolled oats are available at the supermarket. i think the brand is Australian Harvest. Quaker Oats might have that too. it takes a long time to cook them though.

I always bought the instant classic oatmeal but sometimes I also bought those with fruit flavors. I usually add powdered milk and slices of bananas to my preparations. One friend suggested that it's also good to put dried dilis in it if you do not like the sweet kind.

@Letranknight2015 Never tried it though. Maybe we can season it with salt and then the dilis. Actually I like dried dilis to be eaten alone.

I do the one that you have to cook. I usually add a touch of cinnamon and vanilla and then add milk! Sometimes I add extra milk and just let it set. The oatmeal flavors the milk and its just a delicious drink!
