Monday Chit Chat Without Coffee

Happy Monday Everyone! It's a cold day here in my little corner of the myLot world. Thankfully I don't have anywhere to go so I'm happy to be home in my nice warm house. The morning flew by and I've already had my coffee. The few things that needed doing around the house are done and I'm free to do as I please with the rest of my day. First things first, I have to make a grocery list for everything we need for this week and add in all the things we'll need for Thanksgiving. I have two separate lists so I can keep it all straight in my head and then I'll have to combine the lists for the actual shopping trip. My oldest daughter always does Thanksgiving at her house and everyone brings something. This year I'm doing about 3 different vegetables along with 2 pies. Not everyone likes pie so I'm leaving the actual baking to other people. Besides Thanksgiving being only a week and a half away I have so much Christmas running through my head. I really need to take a deep breath and concentrate on one thing at a time. I'm off to see what's happening here before I drive myself crazy.

I still have some matters that keep my brain busy, but at least holidays are not my problem this year.

I am not sure what I am doing for Thanskgiving. I sometimes go to my best friend's for Thanskgiving. My aunt hosts a thanksgiving but there's just too many people around and I don't like to say, that I am not the biggest fan of some of my cousins. They are okay people, just too fake and I don't like being around that. I may make a ham, green bean casserole, yams, potato salad and dressing for my Thanksgiving though. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day. It is cold and rainy here. It's beautiful outside though (I love an overcast Autumnal Day!)

I have half of the things I need for Thanksgiving. I have a turkey, ham, things to make two pies and rolls and potatoes. I need to get some celery and carrot strips.

This year my birthday falls on Thanksgiving, that happens every 7 years. :) I won't be cooking for it and we won't be having turkey. I'm no longer stressing about Christmas anymore either, the main focus is Jesus and the few gifts my kids get they will be grateful for.

We dont do a big deal now with Mom and Dad gone. I will probably make homemade noodles and I have everything for that.

I had switched gears to overdrive because Thanksgiving is only a week and a half, oh dear. I hope I can keep up the pace.

I do not know about how it is where you are, but I had things to buy and my sister needed to shop. We went to the grocery store and it was pure crazy. Of course a little of that is because they have just redone the whole layout, people were lost. Still, it was crazy because it was packed. On the other hand, when hubby and I went, Wal Mart was just comfortably busy, no crowds, no crazies. I hope you had a great time shopping.

Its pretty warm here for this time of the year. However we are expecting some rains later this week. I am not doing much for Christmas this year.. we have planned to do some charity work and spend quiet prayerful time at Christmas this year.

That's a lot of different vegetables to be bringing along, I'm sure that everyone will enjoy them. I had a coffee in the car on my way to our son's place, and my stomach turned a bit and I couldn't finish it. That's not like me at all. I hope that the morning is better.

We keep our Thanksgiving meal simple and each of us makes part of it so it's not so overwhelming. I'm making an apple pie this weekend and my daughter will make a pumpkin the morning of. I love to shop online for gifts and have already got most done. I really want to enjoy the holidays this year and do without the crazy.
