I'm Home Alone and Crying...

But it's not what you think.
I posted something about this back in May. It finally happened... My daughter's boyfriend of 9 years has proposed on a snowy mountain in Calgary. I had a feeling, just a small feeling. When she face timed me I went to put the phone to my ear then realized it was Face Time and started laughing. She asked why I was laughing, that I was acting like I knew something. Then I screamed and then I cried.
She is overwhelmed. She wasn't expecting it at all. Nothing will be planned for a couple of years as they still have to get a house and get their life in order. He, fortunately, just finished his apprenticeship and immediately got a big promotion. So hopefully it will move quicker. So looking forward to a wedding!
So happy for my girl. Love those two to death.

@playertwo They know enough that they want to do a bunch of things (travel) before settling down, and then be able to purchase a home. Unfortunately the price of homes in our area is outrageous.

@playertwo My daughter and her boyfriend are still away on their little trip, already my husband's family is trying to take over. The wedding isn't going to take place for a couple of years but I am seething at them as everything is always about them.

What a happy day for all, especially after such a long relationship!
He must have gone to a lot of trouble to keep the wonderful proposal trip a secret from her.
Congrats!

He tried to let on to us that it wasn't going to happen anytime soon. He may have fooled me but my instincts kicked in as they were walking out the door and I got that feeling.
They have been together since grade 11 and are each other's one and only's.
