I've been reading old bubblews posts a bit and then deleting most of them

When writing in bubblews, a writing site that crashed a few years ago because the owners were paying out more than they had, I used Evernote to save some of my posts I also used it some for tsu and persona paper as well. Some time ago I got a notification that I wouldn't be able to use Evernote any more on more than one device for free so I decided to keep it on my desktop and quit using it on my tablet. After sharing here about having issues with losing posts before submitting them several members suggested I use some type of document to write in first and then move over to mylot once done. Recently someone mentioned Evernote. I completely forgot about that cloud storage program. I found the app in the play store a few days ago and began using it to write my posts there first and it's been working quite well, thank very much. I am also looking for tutorials I had stored there in the hopes of using them in hubpages. So far, though, I've not found what I've been looking for. In the mean time I have been reading through posts done at bubblews in 2013 and 2014. If they are worth keeping I will keep them on Evernote, but the ones about aspects of bubblews I'm deleting to make room for future mylot and later hubpages posts. Have any of you ever used cloud storage program to save your work on? Evernote has quite a bit of free storage available if anyone is interested in checking it out. I get nothing for referrals

I use word and save everything on my computer, it's my favorite way to store documents.

@MarshaMusselman I have all the texts I published in Bubblews, but I do not like to recycle content, many here where on Bubblews, they have already read those posts.

When writing on bubblews I didn't yet own a smartphone. Instead of saving the whole post I saved the URLs to word. That didn't do me much good once the site closed down. I should check to make sure I didn't take time time to save posts that could be used elsewhere. If not, I will just have to start from scratch again.

@LadyDuck I'm not talking about reusing them on mylot but on article content shores successful as hubpages. I'm also thinking of tutorials for things that don't change much

I use evernote. I have some bubble posts but they are more like chatting, as in same as here, I don`t reuse those. However, I do save and reuse the articles that are 400 to 1,000 words, Since so many sites close after about one year anyways.

I'm sure I didn't save my good ones which were mostly tutorials that I feel I could rework and use elsewhere. But maybe I'll find some of those yet.

You were smart to write your posts up somewhere else first. I lost almost everything when Bubblews went down. I had written a series of stories on Memories of my Father and I think I only saved one in WORD.

@MarshaMusselman I tried getting them through the cache but that didn't work.

Aww, that's too bad Pat. Did you know some could be retrieved for several months even after the site quit working? Some of us were able to save it work but retrieving it via the cache. I did save my URLs on word not that it does me any good now. I didn't save much of what I wrote on bubblews and I may find that I didn't save anything I can reuse elsewhere. I only began using Evernote to write my posts in first because when using my smart phone I've lost several before getting a chance to post them and it wasn't mylots fault either.

@patgalca I wasn't able to get many of them, but I got a few at least . Did you leave bubblews before it shut it's doors? It seems like some knew what was going to happen and some of us made a mad dash to save what we could before hand. Have you tried rewriting those stories again? You might find you remember more than you thought you would. And even if you don't if you write what you remember now, God can bring things to your rembrance later on. For a Bible study we are trying to remember aspects of our life to see God intervening on our behalf even before we had a relationship with him. I'm beginning to remember more than I ever thought I would, which is cool.

Never for a long time. I have lost many things I have written because of that.

If you've never used Evernote it's worth trying especially since it's free If you get it I recommend you name your first notebook something general. Had I known how it worked I'd have named mine 'landing page'. That is because there is a web clipper that works like screenshots and it used to always put the clipped page into the first notebook. It took me a long time to find them again and later remember unless that's been fixed since.

@marguicha you may ask them how Evernote works? Your best bet is to read the instructions on your PC. I need to do that again

I don't like cloud. I purchased Microsoft Office 2016 and use either Word or Xcel to keep anything that might be worth saving, I'm not really much a writer so I haven't had to store anything but I do like to write in word first then copy it to Mylot but only if it's a longer post which I don't do very often.

@rebelann if I didn't use my phone I wouldn't be here much at all. I'm supposed to be keeping my feet elevated which I can't do in my desktop and I have no laptop.

I've mainly changed how I'm doing things because when I write with my smartphone it likes to flip out of the dialog screen and sometimes takes me to a profile page. That causes me to lose whatever I've written thus far. It will flip when replying on comments and posts too, so often I will post it and then edit, add more, post and edit and add again. Sometimes I'll let people know when I'm not done with a reply, otherwise, I'll post it mid-sentence, especially when it's flipping more and more.

No, I have not felt secure with doing cloud storage. I probably am just too uninformed.

Some cloud services have been hacked before so I don't put anything on there where someone could get the wrong information

Not long ago I started saving copies of my posts here to a private folder on facebook. When gather shut down I lost all those posts and most were memories of the fun things I did with my kids. It really hurt to lose all those. Since then I started saving copies of posts I write to a folder on my desktop. I haven’t saved copies of what I wrote here in probably two years though. I just never have time to get on my desktop before my daughter is home using it.

@marshamusselman, never heard of Bubblews before. Sorry to know it crashed. We're you ever paid by the website for your articles?

Oh yes, I got paid well over six hundred dollars. And others got paid even more than that. Many got paid twenty five dollars per day. The creators paid much more than they were making and that's a big reason why they crashed. There were also many members that never saw any of the money they earned for whatever reason.

My image is a word cloud. You used to have to do them on a web site which petered out when the browsers quit supporting something needed. I found a word cloud app which does pretty good. There are many shapes, fonts, and colors to choose from. Unfortunately it doesn't include all your word choices picked like it should.

If it's one that's been around for a long time I consider it a good idea. Most Willie want you to pay for more options or if you upload more than their maximum for free accounts. It's probably still good to save them at your house some way too. But I'd your hard drive ever crashes this is another way to find them. I probably won't keep every post I use here but there are certain ones I like to look back on later.

@MarshaMusselman I always just used to keep my bubblews drafts as draft emails on my phone. I know I should delete them all, But nostalgia holds me back!

If they were more than just chatting with folks about your day, you can save them to a document on your computer. And even if they were mainly something about your day or the weather then or something, it can be good to still save it in case you ever want to remember later on. Then you could free up space on your phone.
