I'm a bit behind on my bill paying. I have yet to be able to pay bills when I first get them in the mail although I do try to get them done several days before they are due. And, for a few I've paid more than the minimum. My plan once I began getting social security benefits was to get my small debt paid off in the first year and then use the majority of the about toward my home equity loan and finally work on paying my mortgage down. I have yet to begin that plan and that mainly been due to me not working as much this year and having to pay others to help instead. I've been using most of my benefits to pay my monthly mortgage and then saving some toward bills due later in the month When I've gone on trips it slows the process down when more especialy my trip last May to Arizona. Maybe by next summer I can be back on schedule and able to keep more of what the businesses makes so things can get paid down more and more. Once the bills are paid maybe I can get more cleaning done. My husband bought a nice bookshelf for his tapes and CDs, but I needed to move furniture from his computer space to the living room before we can move the bookshelf back there. I should also begin organizing my desk and one of these days file papers on the foot and in other piles around my computer. Then maybe I can begin reconciling out business statements again. I'm behind. A lot. As I left off in May. But, at least most of my invoices are already in the computer, I still need to input the payments and deposits. Once I get some of that done it will move along faster, I'm sure. I told Anna I get inspired when the sun is shining. This is the first day it's been out since out drive to Ohio, so is should make use of it. To bad I can't turn on some good music to keep new moving. Well maybe later as my husband is napping in the living room.,

I have thankfully only missed a bill one time in the past 8 years that I have been in charge of doing them. I hope you are able to get ahead of then all someday. I assume it would be very stressful to always be behind. You said you get social security does that mean you are retired now?

@MarshaMusselman I understand your husband wanting to use the money towards that. Furnaces are so costly but necessary. I prefer to wait until things absolutely will not work anymore before buying a new one. Everything in this house is very old lol. My oven is from the 60s and the door doesn’t stay up so I have to keep a chair pushed against it.

@shaggin my house was built in the late forties. Out oven quit working in 2012/2013 and we did replaced that work the whole unit. We have yet to finish the walls around it though. We've replaced the water heater and some faucets but the latter work worse than they did before. I think we loosened the minerals in the pipes and we don't know how to get them out of the sprayer yet. I think when we replaced the furnace we should put in air at the same time and that will cost more. Plus our vents should be cleaned out too but...

No. It just means I'm of an age when I can get it without having to pay any back. I actually completely missed a can loan payment in Sept. I let the bank know and then paid two months together. I'm expecting money this winter from my mom's investments. I'm sure it will be less than last year but hoping for more than two grand. That will mostly help us through the winter months without doing window jobs. But maybe we can turn things around again money wise. My husband want to use it to get a new furnace. I'd rather pay things off first.

Is your nightmare only monthly? I try to do some each week after getting paid. Sometimes more often it's we get paid via working out business. It's not really a nightmare, though. Since I believe for things to work out if we don't spend too much in other things first

@Janet357 I pay a lot online and have for years. My bills are monthly but they aren't all due the same day or week which is better since I get paid weekly.

@MarshaMusselman really? Each week? Wow, well in my case, every two weeks. So twice a month i pay my tutors. For my personal bills, once a month. The bank here is very far. Im still adjusting to our temporal place. But in our hometown, all establishments are soo near us, but here, oh my... there are times that i really dont like spending much because going to the bank just to withdraw money will take you hours. I dont use cards. So, for me to pay my stuff is a nightmare.

It was nice to see the sun out here today too. My dog especially appreciated it.

It can definitely be challenging sometimes, but you do have a good plan in place. I'm sure you'll be able to get through it.

The bills are done the rest may needed to wait for another day this week, unless I begin tonight. First, though, I need to work on my Bible study. I have two more days work to accomplish.

Got my bills paid. Pretty much. It those that are due soon. I'm helping my mom eat right now so I'm not sure how much I'll get done once I return home again.
