I used to occasionally eat this stuff but have now decided to add it to my daily diet. Sesame is packed with goodness. It contains fiber, protein, iron, zinc, copper, vitamin E,, calcium, magnesium, and manganese Sesame is available here in the form of ladoos which are tasty as sesame is roasted and they are prepared in jaggery syrup

I usually roast the seeds in a dry pan for several minutes and add the seeds to salads or sauteed vegetables.

That is also a very good way. But I take it as a snack - killing two birds with one stone (lol)

@allknowing This is a good idea, I never take snacks, I make sometimes biscuits with sesame seeds, for the morning breakfast.

I can see the sesame seeds in the food you prepared. I try to avoid seeds as they can catch up in the appendix and cause infection. The Ladoos in your photo look so yummy. What else is them? The ones I see online some have ground up chick peas. I made a similar ball with chick peas, almonds and chocolate.

@allknowing one recipe I saw they crushed the sesame seeds and then sifted in to remove clumps. I suppose that would reduce all worry about them getting stuck in the appendix. You can also buy sesame flour I believe where all that is done for you.

@shaggin The crunchy roasted sesame is tasty and when eaten in moderation it will take care of all side effects.

Every food has some kind of side effect but here the goodness overtakes the side effects. I suppose one should eat them in moderation. Just roasted sesame and jaggery syrup is tasty enough Some add roasted peanuts.

I've had it a few times and they are tasty. They are very sweet, so I didn't think they were healthy.

I don't think I've had ladoos before - nor jaggery syrup - I wonder what they taste like! But we do have foods with sesame in it - good to read that it has a lot of nutrients in them. Also, my sister's dear dog's name is Sesame .
