Hump day which is a name I hate

Monday I woke up having a nightmare about a serial killer. I dreamt I lost my phone and he used all my posts and photos to track us down. I think I’ve read to many creepy books lately. My daughter didn’t have school for Veterans Day but my son who does cyber school has a full day. I tried a new recipe called “Trader Joe’s cookie butter smoothie” and it was gross! I received a $10 Amazon gift card from global test market. After dinner I sat down to make something for my daughter. She chose a flannel shirt at Walmart and I cut out the image from a ripped shirt of her fathers. I started sewing it onto the back of the flannel shirt. While sewing it my daughter told me to watch a movie called “I am not a serial killer” which was okay up until the ending. Tuesday my daughter went on a class trip. The first part of the trip was to watch interprative dancing followed by lunch at a Mexican buffet. She said the dancing was kind of boring and the buffet food was very limited so she pretty much only ate rice and churros. After school my boyfriends son had detention so he walked here after and played video games with my son until his father picked him up at 6. I made skillet ziti for dinner but none of the kids liked it. I finished sewing my daughters shirt while watching a movie called “The Gift” which was okay until the end as well. In the photo is the shirt before I sewed it when I had it held together with pins. Today (hump day which I have always hated it to be called) my father in law came and cleaned my furnace and adjusted something on the water heater. I covered the air conditioner up outside with a blanket and tarp and covered the inside of the window with plastic. It’s getting so cold out and snowing lightly. It feels so chilly in my house I can barely stand it even with many layers on. I think even though I hate them I am going to buy some sweat pants to wear around the house as they are better to keep me warm.

@Aquitaine24 nope. I haven't had cable television in 13 years. I rarely ever see commercials unless I am doing a survey that wants me to view a commercial and give my opinion on it.

I love wearing sweatpants around the house when it is cold. This year since I am in Florida I don't have to worry about the cold we still have temps in the 80s.

@RasmaSandra that must feel so nice to be back in the warm weather. It is starting to snow now and school was let out early. We are supposed to get a bug storm and it's expected school will be cancelled tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your nightmares. Your boyfriends son has detention a lot he must not know how to behave at school. Yeah the recipe you tried does sound gross. I am sure the sweatpants will keep you warm along with some nice warm fuzzy socks and a nice blanket to curl up with a good book as well and can’t forget some hot chocolate as well.

@Tina30219 his son has ODD and ADHD. He was doing really bad in school failing and getting detention twice a week. His father finally took him to the doctor and got him his medicine again. But it is a dose from when he was younger and his son has grown about a foot and gained 20+ pounds since then so his dosage might need to be increased if he keeps getting in trouble the way he is. It's so cold and my son keeps having chocolate milk everyday. I ask if he is sure he doesn't want hot cocoa instead but he doesn't. I have a recipe to make hot cocoa powder using coffee creamer that I want to try. I have a bit thing if coffee creamer left after quitting drinking coffee. I had a nightmare again last night but not as bad and I don't remember what it was about.

@shaggin Yeah it sounds like he needs his dosage increased or even the medication changed.Chocolate milk is good but not as good as hot chocolate. If you don’t mind could you private message me your recipe for the hot chocolate please. Sorry to hear you keep having these nightmares I hope they go away soon. I think you need to read a book that is a happy book and not these thriller type books.

@Tina30219 I hate milk so either way hot chocolate or chocolate milk grosses me out. I will judge if the recipe is a hit when I make it by my son telling me it's good or not as I am not willing got try it Your right about the horror books I'll change it up with the next one. I'll pm you the link to the recipe in just a minute.

I remember the movie "The Gift", I liked it. I have checked the cookie butter smoothie recipe that you mentioned and I think it's gross. It's getting cold here too, we expect snow for the next week.

@LadyDuck I got the cookie butter somewhere for free many months ago. I opened it recently and hated it. I can't stand throwing things out so I always try to find recipes to use the things in. I have a few more recipes to try with the recipe butter but I don't expect to like any of them lol

@shaggin I also hate to throw things, especially food, so I end up eating things that my husband buys and he dislikes.

I never liked that term, hump day, either. I don't like the cold either and wear lined walking pants and a t-shirt under a sweatshirt around the house. Of course the heat is on and I have the fireplace going day and night. Brrrrr

@DianneN hearing all that you wear your sound cold all the time like me. I'd love sitting in front of a nice cozy fire. My parents had a wood stove when I was a baby and I had such bad asthma they had to get rid of it.

@shaggin I do not like being cold at all. We had our wood stove converted to a gas stove two years ago. It's so much cleaner.

@Courtlynn she was so excited about the trip for a month so I guess not really enjoying it much would be disappointing for her but at least it was a day off of school right

@snowy22315 I thought it was good until the ending and being left wondering at the end of a movie drives me nuts.

So you basically tell us about your week from the start up to now, that is Wednesday, that is the hump of the week, we can see the weekend is coming so it is nice to pass the hump, and see the end of the week is coming. Why don't you like the name hump ? Can you please upload a photo of the flanel shirt that you sew ? Please, tell us how you did it, how you stitch and etc... What did your daughter say about the tshirt ? Did she like it ?

@stringer321 The reason I don't like it is because it always sounds dirty to me even though that is not what it is meant to be. I'm not very good at coming up with titles for my posts but I do like writing about my days. My daughter wore the flannel shirt today. I just cut out the rectangular image that was on the front of the t-shirt then I stitched it by hand to the back of the end flannel shirt. I posted the finished photo on Instagram so I don't want to post it here but I will get on my phone and show you a photo of it before it was stitched together when it was pinned.

@shaggin Did your daughter like what you had made ? Awww Slipknot ?!! I used to listen to their cd named iowa. Almost 17 years ago. I loved that music. Fearful, with anger, screams and horror sound effects in the background. Now I don't like that music because I think it is better to think positively, I like to be peaceful and happy. Nice picture of them, brings back memories from the army.

@sallypup my daughter and I were shopping somewhere a few months ago and I saw old flannel shirts with old tshirts sewn on the back of them. That is where I got the idea. Why pay $30 for one of theirs when I could buy a new flannel for $8 at Walmart and use her father's old t-shirt for free. It is more meaningful it being his shirt

Wednesday was ok. Yesterday was terrible. The power went twice. It was rainy too. Today it's sunny and cold. But I do have power today.

@JESSY3236 I am so sorry to hear that yesterday was bad for you! Having the power go out is awful! Especially if it's cold and you can't stay warm without the heat running. I am glad you got the electricity back! We didn't lose ours in the big storm we just had where we got almost 9 inches over night. I am thankful because usually even with light snow our electricity goes out.

I was like that today coming out of the doctors office, it was warm in there and even though I wore a thick sweater I was froze to the bone.

@andriaperry for Smiley360 they sent me multivitamin gummy vitamins to try. They didn't have any iron in them so I think even with the iron pills I take my iron has been low since I started taking the gummies. I just started back on my regular multivitamins since I ran out of the gummies. Hopefully now I won't feel so cold all the time.
