Playing on the Pirate Ship

While I was visiting my daughter and grandchildren in Delaware, I spent some time outdoors playing with my grandsons on their backyard pirate ship. I love that it is big enough for adults to hang out on it, too. In the above photo, I am with my two year-old grandson looking through the built-in binoculars for "other pirates," while my four year-old grandson was standing on the upper deck, on "look-out" duty! Doesn't the two year-old look serious ... as though he actually thought he would spot a pirate? LOL We had a lot of fun playing together. I'll post more pictures of the pirate ship in the comment section. (By the way, this photo was taken on Veteran's Day and we were only about 60 miles north of Arlington Cemetery, outside Washington, DC. While my preschool age grandsons and I were playing outside wearing light jackets, our president thought the weather was too bad for him to go to Arlington Cemetery and take a few minutes to lay a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Shameful behavior on the part of our president.)

Aaargh! Did you talk like a pirate while you were out there playing? I'm surprised you didn't put on an eye patch and a pirate hat! haha

Grandsons playing on pirate ship
@moffittjc - Oh, darn! I wish I would have thought of the eye patch. My grandsons would have loved it! LOL

@DeborahDiane That's a really nice looking pirate ship you've got there! What name does she sail under?

@moffittjc - Ahhh! My grandsons will have to give her a name! I didn't think about that. They sure have fun playing on it!

Your grandson looks tall to be only 2 years old, a very nice young boy.

@DeborahDiane I am not the shortest in the family, one of my cousin is a couple of inches shorter.

@LadyDuck - I don't think there is anyone shorter than me in our family, except for the grandchildren who are under age 5. LOL

Swing set attached to pirate ship
@LadyDuck - The children in our family are all tall. I am shorter than all of my grandkids except the youngest ones! I remember when the grandkids sat on my laps in family photos. Now, I stand in the front row with the little kids and everyone else stands behind me! LOL

@Marilynda1225 - Ha ha! They didn't make me walk the plank, but the big brother did make his little brother walk it! LOL

What a great play structure for the kids (and grownup too). There is no end to the boorish and un-presidential behavior of this Oval Office bozo.

@DeborahDiane There is no end to the crass and stupid remarks he utters and tweets.

@JamesHxstatic - It is unbelievable. I heard a Finnish news reporter on the radio today telling a local reporter that the Finn's just find him amusing, like a joke. That is pretty sad.

@JamesHxstatic - I agree. Now he has said that we need to rake the leaves in the California forests to prevent fires. That is so ridiculous as to be beyond belief. We have 33 million acres of forest land in California alone! He must think Central Park is a forest and is therefore the example of how a forest should be managed! LOL

@Hannihar - Our daughter has a nice, large yard. It is plenty big enough for a pirate ship. I could never have something like that in our retirement condo! LOL

@DeborahDiane They are very lucky to have it. We do not have a backyard and our porch is small so cannot have very big things on it.
