For THREE days! My son will leave tomorrow and will be out until Tuesday. He with 2 other teachers and 4 Grade 12 students, will be attending a Regional Press Conference. This is the event that the Vice President for Academic Affairs told my son after he coached some students in a literary competition in one of the distant towns here in my province about 2 months ago. It is good my big brother is with us at home. My big brother extended his vacation leave from 2 to 3 weeks.Maybe he thought that when my son leaves, we are only 2 with my sister, and my sister will be alone when I will have my duty on Monday and Tuesday. But there is another reason why he extended his leave. I will post it in another discussion.

can a US pupil age 10 go to another city or state for educational trips or enhancements?

@DianneN thank you. my brother will be leaving on Sunday and he is hurrying to finish decorating our house. to the anxiety of my sister, she remarked how will she fix ALL of the decors ALONE?'

yes that is true. my son communicates with me on text messages and chat messages. my big brother is also making use of his extended vacation by buying many more flower pots and orchids, and decorating our house for Christmas, which my sister should do only on December 1st.
