So, since there are only going to be 3 of us for Thanksgiving plus the dog, I turned down offer of friend to buy a turkey..I don't want to mess with a huge turkey for just 3 people..and I don;'t want turkey leftovers until the end of time. I bought a 7 pound turkey breast..and it was only 6.74! I think I did rather well don't you?

Good job! My tradition is to always deep-fry a turkey every year, but it doesn't look like this year that many people will be around, so maybe I won't have to make one so big. But then again, I love turkey leftovers, so I wouldn't mind eating leftover deep-fried turkey for the next month or so!

I have never considered deep frying a turkey, although I would like to taste it sometime. I have a feeling, I would create a disaster should I decide to do this. Smaller turkey equals smaller potential of disaster with deep fryer..

@snowy22315 I've been noticing a lot of air fryers and electric fryers popping up on the market this year, and I'm curious as to how the meat turns out in those compared to conventional deep-frying? At least air frying and electric frying should be a little safer than deep-frying!

@moffittjc I have an air fryer, and I like it..but no way would it acommodate a turkey.

It is Thursday here. Why not start your own tradition and celebrate it there?

No point buying the whole turkey for only 3 people. You did very well.

Thanks, that is what I thought. i hate hassling with a big turkey anyway, unless there is a large group.

We don't get those Turkeys here in India. Do they taste like chicken or they have more fat?

The taste is quite similar, but turkey white meat may be a bit dryer than chicken.
