Outages outages, outages. My brother got his power back...and then my internet went out! It's back now, and with it so am I, along with another album that was released in 1986. This series is in honor of the birthday of @miketagz , who was born in 1986. Here's the next album on the list. #6: They Might Be Giants - They Might Be Giants I got to see these guys twice, back when they toured with a tape machine. Now they have a band! But it started with this album in 1986. The two Johns -- Flansburgh (the southpaw guitarist) and Linnell (keyboards/accordion) -- have been together for over 30 years now, turning out quirky, sometimes downright hilarious ("Marty Beller Mask," about Whitney Houston and TMBG's drummer changing places), songs. Their debut album was simply terrific. I was listening to it the other day at work, and it's still terrific. It was one of my favorite albums from 1986, and it still rings a great musical bell for me. They Might Be Giants Recorded by They Might Be Giants Produced by Bill Krauss One of my favorite songs from the album:

For a country "hayseed," you are quite 80s alternative! They Might Be Giants were played on KROQ.

Yeah, you don’t see too many other people on here doing countdowns of Talking Heads and Jim Reeves......
