Snow Please Go Away And Stay Away

Canada
November 18, 2018 8:37am CST
It appears it is snowing hard around the United State and Canada. The weather has been nasty and seeing the news on the TV I am glad I live where I do...We did have snow but only about an inch and it was gone the next day. My friends and family I talk to on line are telling horror stories of the amount of snow they are getting....its too soon for snow! I took some pictures with my iPad. One was the snow - all one inch of snow and then a day later the leaves falling off a large tree in front of my house. And the snow melted...thankfully! Its cold here just south of Lake Ontario, but my daughter who lives north of Lake Ontario and east got dumped on. Looking forward to going south.

If there's an inch of snow here people panic, well those that have been raised here at least, I'm praying it will be another year of no snow ........... I don't even care if it doesn't snow for the next 10 years, it was enough when we got 3 inches back in Nov 2015.

I remember living in Kansas and seeing the southerns staying home because those inches scares them. I loved driving in snow in Kansas leaving trails of fun... Here we get feet, not inches once winter arrives, it hasn't arrived yet and I hope it stays away until I'm in the south..

It is funny to watch people freak out because of an inch of snow @PainsOnSlate here they close the schools because so many fools here haven't a clue how to drive in snow ...... or rain for that matter

so far the snow has not stuck around. I hope that goes for the rest of the winter but I'm guessing it will be nasty soon...

We got dumped on as well which you saw in my post but glad to hear you only got about an inch. Here snow in November is normal. Some years we get it in October other years not til January. That's just the kind of weather we expect in Pennsylvania... Anything anytime lol

@PainsOnSlate I know when I would go to Lake George as a kid there was a sign saying you could stay on that route and go all the way to Canada. So I assume it isn't that far of a drive from me maybe 4 or 5 hours.

We are the same here in Ontario, Pennsylvania is very close to us, but what makes it worse is we live on the shore of lake Ontario and that wind is cold and usually full of snow but not yet...

Too early for snow? We are already used to it here. Wreaked havoc with harvest since we got dumps of snow in September and October. That eventually melted but more kept coming.

We still haven't really gotten very much snow in our part of Michigan. One night we got about three inches and in two days, it was gone.

@kobesbuddy I have several oaks and they are piling up everywhere, when it stops snowing and get warm enough to melt what we have I intend to get the rake and get it done... Hopefully before real winter starts...

That is what is happening here in Ontario. I am very close to the shore of Lake Ontario and the wind from the lake can be nasty. We haven't had much snow yet and when it did snow the plows were our all night. The weather for our area is to be warm for the next few days, I look forward to that because we need to rake the leaves off our yards. Our snow from two nights ago is gone...

We haven't really got any snow yet and usually we get a bunch so we can't go celebrate Thanksgiving with family. Hoping it stays away this year though for the holidays.

It's been come and go, the snow is not sticking and that makes me happy. I know soon it will be sticking and I'm wishing it waits to after the holidays too.

@PainsOnSlate If it snows, that's the best kind...the snow that doesn't stick. Unfortunately it will get too cold for it to melt away. Too bad we can't control the weather, lol!

It has been hovering around the freezing mark here for the past little while. I can handle that, with a winter coat and a pair of gloves I'm all set. Anything below that can just wait until January, like its supposed to. I actually look forward to this cool snap, I feel better when its cold. We've had a couple of dustings of snow, but nothing that has lingered or proved to be too much to manage as it fell.

Saw your PM and responded. We are heading south for a month, Can't stand the cold anymore especially because I have new knees and can never get back on skis. When I could ski I loved winter.

We are going for January and February, almost two months. We go to Florida, we have relatives there who want us to visit in Ocala (middle of the state) and we will spend two weeks on the beach in Marco Island on the Gulf side of the state. We've been there before and loved it, I hope it will be hot and fun...

When I was younger I loved winter because I played in the snow. When my doctors said I couldn't ski anymore ( a few years ago) I like going south for as long as I can every winter...Beaches is fun for me now... I would like just three seasons now, Spring, Summer and Fall.

@leny34 winter ( our 4th season ) brings lots of very cold, freezing actually and lots of snow. At my age i don't like it but we do go south for warmth for as long as we can in winter, this year it will be almost two month in south and I like that.

@PainsOnSlate I am glad you did not get much snow. I grew up in Minneapolis and there they really get snow and cold and I hated winter so much there. We do not get snow a lot of Jerusalem so that is nice but it can get cold out and in so have to heat our home so we can be warm.

I have lived in the states for a long time and in NY we had lots of snow, Kansas had very little and now in Canada winter is usually heavy in snow. We had to uncover our car to get it out today, it snowed all night but still just an inch or two for now. I have never been to Jerusalem but I had no idea you get snow there. My only connection to Jerusalem is what I learned from the Bible. I think of sand when I think of Jerusalem. But not now...
