Hello everyone! I was so busy this afternoon. Our neighbor in front of our house has given us plenty of huge ripe mangoes. They smelt and tasted so good. There were plenty that I made mango jam and mango cupcakes out of them.
I have not yet made mango jam and mango cupcakes until today. I used to make strawberry jam in Germany and so I was thinking I could do it myself with the mangoes. It was a success that I told my niece to bring a small glass of the mango jam that I have made and 6 pieces of mango cupcakes to the said neighbor and her family.
Now I am thinking of buying ripe mangoes and will make mango jam for sale. This is also a good gift for Christmas. What do you think?
Do you like mango jam?
I took the photo this evening for fb and put the name of our small store in it. My cousin and I are ready to accept orders.

That was very kind of you to reciprocate the neighbor by giving some of the finished product for the mangoes they gave :)

Sometimes I think DIY stuffs cost more than buying from the stores Of course it is a good Christmas gift to send your DIY mango jam because it is contains love. But if you want to sell the mango jam, I am afraid that the price will be expensive than the mango jams in the store. I made the mango jam before. It tastes well.

@thelme55 I think there are lots of good tropical fruits in Philippines and therefore the price will be lower there. And perhaps in Germany the weather can't allow them to plant the mangoes and they have to import these and the price will be much more expensive.

I would not make the mango jam in Germany as mangoes are very expensive there. Here in the Philippines, I have not seen mango jam in the supermarket and the mangoes are cheap here in the Philippines. 1 kilo is 50 Pesos. That is almost 1 Euro. 1 piece of mango in Germany starts with 1.99€. Too expensive for me @youless

1 kilo of ripe mangoes here in the Philippines costs 20-60 Pesos =1 € @amadeo. Depending on the variety and if it is in season. I bought 4 kilos of huge ripe mangoes today from our neighbor because I want to make some more jam for sale and for Christmas gifts. The same neighbor I mentioned above. I bought 4 kilos and she added 1 kilo for free. I will give her some jam when I am finished.

@Tampa_girl7 sorry about that. You have to be careful. Some cakes have mangoes inside.

@thelme55 We might, we don't really get jams that often, we normally just get strawberry jelly.

Maybe you have Mango Jam in your supermarket. You can try it in a sandwich or on top of a cupcake @DesirousDreamer. Thanks for commenting.
