Although I have heard about the fires raging throughout California it was not until last night that I actually had time to watch the news on the television and I was absolutely stunned to see some of the devastation the fires have caused.
My heart really goes out to all those people who have lost loved ones and to those who have lost everything in these dreadful fires. It must be awful waiting to hear news from your loved ones to hear if they are safe.
I am sending all my prayers to those affected by this disaster and I hope that many more will be found safe.
Human life is so precious, possessions can be replaced but people cannot.
I sincerely hope that the fires can be brought under control as soon as possible. I understand that 12000 people are unaccounted for at the moment. This is horrific and shocking.

I have not watched much of the news regarding the fires, but I do know that some of the centers that the displaced have been moved into have bulletin boards full of names with no whereabouts.
I've been trying to avoid any comment The President has made.

@garymarsh6 True but it seems there will be many more lives lost in this instance than during the Australian fires.

This so tragic! Imagine 12000 people are unaccounted for at the moment. I just hope they have just fled and are alive that is why they are at the moment missing.

@garymarsh6 I know, I remember when we visited we saw how they build their homes. We have a friend in Los Angeles, he told us that they call their houses "match house", well, it's scary.

Yes, it is. It's called the worst fire in history. A whole town is gone.
