A torn currency note

Recently my little one grabbed a currency note in my pocket and ripped it in two. There's the end of it!! Luckily it was only a 20 rs. note (about 30 cents value). I could get it exchanged in the bank, but I 3nded up losing one half of it! Have you ever ended with damaged currency? What do you do with them?

If you have all the important pieces, tape it back together. Take it to the bank and ask for a replacement. The worst they could do is say no.

@akalinus I seem to have misplaced it. Maybe I'll just preserve this half to remind my little one of all the mischief she did as a child.

Our notes are very hard to tear but we can exchange them too.

These are Aussie notes are they? I've never managed to tear one during my stay there.

@pitstop Yes, I had a check ripped and it was taped and turned out to be ok. I was very relieved that it was accepted.

When a note is torn here, we use a tape to mend and they are still acceptable
