Pro-Tip! Egg Shells in Your Coffee Filter Removes Acid From Coffee!!! Tastes Wonderful Too.

My husband and I both love coffee, but I have issues with acid reflux, and my doctor reccommends that I don't drink too much of it. Hearing this, my husband remembered an old pro-tip. He's recently started drying out our egg sheels from breakfast, breaking them up into tiny pieces, and throwing them into the next morning's coffee filter, with the coffee grounds. It's amazing what this does to the coffee. It's smoother, and the egg shells seem to suck up all the acid. The flavour is absolutely beautiful, and Hubby tells me that a little bit of the calcium from the egg shells gets into the coffee as it drips into the pot. This is a wonderful idea, and one we're going to use from now on. My mother brings us fresh eggs from the surrounding Mennonie farms in her area almost every week, so we are never out of eggs. Has anyone else put egg shells in their coffee filters? How do you like it?

This is an old-timers trick and it really works as you discovered. I've done this many times. It drastically changes the taste of some coffees. Well, doesn't really change the taste but makes it so much smoother and easy on the stomach.

Never tried this but I know salt makes the coffee less bitter if you sprinkle it in the grounds.
