Now I tried watercolor painting

I hope you all are not getting bored with this mountain/water designs...but that's just what like to work with when trying out a new medium. My son was painting with his water colors tonight, so I wanted to give it a try and see how they worked. I think this is better than my first oil painting (although I know what my problems were there). What do you all think of my watercolor painting? Have you ever used watercolors? What do you think of them?

Of all the medias I used, I probably found watercolor to be the most difficult especially wet on wet, no chance to make corrections when you make a mistake ( unlike with oil) , white leave out is also very hard and I'm not very comfortable with painting from light to dark. Again what you did is not bad, there is no right or wrong in art, that is you right now, your expression and skill level, even masters had to start somewhere lol!

I definitely agree with all of that after doing this piece...I was fine with doing the sky and all that but when I got to the mountains I had trouble since I had no white to make the snow parts. So watercolor painting does have it's drawbacks. But thank you very much....all of this hand painting is new to me...I did do some painting back in High School, but that's been over 10 years ago now.

I've found watercolors to be a very unforgiving medium, but if you work wet on wet you can get a nice blend

I definitely agree, but I still had a good time doing this one. Good to know about blending with the wet on wet

That's a nice picture. Watercolours are so versatile and I love to mess with them even though I never get a picture like yours.

very good painting in my opinion, you are good at painting, and you are already good at using watercolors,   I can't even draw at all, because I don't have the talent to do that

Well thank you very much! And I can't draw...but this kind of painting does not take much drawing talent.

Thank you for sharing, I am sure I did too I just can't remember lol. Water colors are pretty good for kids though because they aren't too messy...well compared to other paints.
