I love receiving Christmas Cards. And the little girl in me loves the Christmas Stocking too. Before my mom passed away, she always made sure I had one. No matter how old I get, there is nothing more fun that receiving a Christmas Stocking for the holidays. I used to say that I did not care if I received 100 of them in one year...there were never too many for me. LOL Anyway... Before I lost everything, I used to use my old Christmas Cards, and Stockings from my past to decorate my home. I miss having them. I miss the memories attached to them. Since my mom is gone, I can't get anymore from her. I miss the notes I read from family and friends in the cards, that have now passed on. Unlike many of you. The holidays are just another day for me. Not too many happy memories attached to them...anymore. I love the decorations, and Christmas lights too. When I had my home...I used to decorate my entire yard to the point, where neighbors would look forward each year to them, and bring their kids out to see them. A few families even asked to use my yard as a back drop for their Christmas Cards. I had one neighbor tell me that he was flying in from a business trip one day, and could see my lights from the plane, as it was landing. LOL I would have to start in early to mid November so everything would be up by Thanksgiving Day...December 1st at the latest. But it was such a joy for me to do this, for my neighbors. Those days are all gone now. Just a distant memory. I have no home to put anything up. I am just renting a room with a small Christmas Tree. I turn it on every now and then to look at the lights. The little girl in me would like Santa to be real this year. This is getting depressing. So I had better stop. LOL What are your favorite things about the holidays? I know many of you will say sharing them with family and friends. But what are some other ways you enjoy them?
