Being homeless became a crime in Hungary( again)

I just read the news about Hungary. Being homeless is a crime there. I think this is very unfair. I think it's wrong that modern society allows people to be homeless. After several warnings police officers are allowed to destroy people's personal belongings. Many people lost their homes because they couldn't pay the rent or bills. If people live on the streets they can face fines or even imprisonment. I think society should help the homeless people. What is your opinion about this?

Terribly!!! People need help. If everyone turned around, they would see how many people are on the street, but very few people will talk to them and try to help. In my country, I often see people eating out of the container, and people are passing by as if they do not see them. That's very sad.

In my country is the same. People don't care anymore. They are very selfish.

@dya80dya We've been far away from each other. Here people are cute when somebody maltreates in a public place.

That makes me so mad, it's very sad to hear that and I don't think it should be against the law at all. It's very hard anymore to have a home and with all these bills being so high.

This is unfair for sure, unless they have a program to give a shelter to the homeless. Well, imprisonment is better than staying out in the cold, at least they have a bed and something to eat.

@dya80dya This is very unfair, if they had money they would not be homeless.

@LadyDuck They have programs for homeless, but I think they are not good enough. If they would be good homeless people wouldn't exist. And it's very unfair to ask money from them. It's the same situation we face here. I have to pay for health insurance, even if I don't have money.

It's true. But I don't think it's normal to punish the homeless people even more. They have to pay fines. If they don't have money how can they pay fines?

Question - Is there a program in place to help the homeless? If not this is outlandish. If so then someone is not doing their job.

I don't think there is a program. I will read more about this.

Punishing the homeless is so unfair. They should offer shelters and food and try to help the homeless get back on their feet.

So where do they live then? I think being poor is a crime there. That’s so unfair indeed. The government must give them jobs,
