About school lunches

When I was in High School (our High School went from 8 to 12th grade), we had no lunch room which meant we had to take our lunch daily. For 5 years, mostly I would bring sandwiches. Here are the main ones I took: peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, bologna and cheese sandwiches, potted meat sandwiches, and vienna sausage sandwiches. On occasion, I would take a salad in a Tupperware bowl. My kids went to a High School with a cafeteria. Anytime they would complain about the food, I would mention how my high school had no cafeteria and I ate sandwiches for 5 years, mostly. So, I told them not to complain. Did your High School have a cafeteria or not so that you had to take your lunch each day?

We had a lunch room....at my school, the students could even help serve the food and get paid (and free lunch).

@LeaPea2417 Yes that is very true....I chose to do that so I wouldn't have to pay for lunch myself. Plus, I always got out of class a little early to go get ready lol

My high school -grade 10 to 12 only- had a cafeteria, but I always brought my lunch. Elementary school, grade 1 to 6 we went home every day for lunch. Junior high we brought our lunch.

High school was four years for me as well, but we did have a lunch room. I wonder if the kids could get then to change their menu.

We had a cafeteria to eat in. But I took my lunch on days I did not like the menu.

Yes, I know some who want to take their lunch for whatever reason, not liking the food, or being allergic to certain foods. etc.

In high school, we had a dining hall. The school would cook for us pathetic meals but we had no choice because it was a boarding school. The only option would be slices of bread at our own cost

Life's hard during my high school days too. My lunch usually comprises of rice and egg, or dried fish or fried fish.

We had a lunch room... and thee food was the bomb to. They always let us go for seconds.
