A rough week for the family

It's been a rough week for our family. My dear mother-in-law passed away suddenly. It was a traumatic couple days leading up to her passing. She was in the ICU and my husband (her son) was the only one of her children around. So we spent countless hours round the clock with her for two days and nights, as did her grandchildren. She held on until the last of her children arrived then she let go peacefully.
I just wished she could have been around for a little bit longer but we all wish that when a loved one dies. My heart is heavy and I will miss the large family gatherings, her creativity and her love of family above all. She was ready to go and prepared for it over the years.
I know she can't wait to connect with her husband, son and two daughters who passed on before. I am thankful that we got to spend quality time with her in the previous weeks and up to the evening prior to her going to the hospital. I miss her. May she rest in peace.

my deepest 'n most heartfelt condolences, hon. i hear ya'n wishin' 'em to stay, but hope that'cha can find some solace that she suffers no more. she'll 'lways been'n yer heart, no doubt smilin' down too 's she watches her legacy grow.

Always heart wrenching when we have to go through and observe our loved ones suffering. I went through this with my Dad last year.

Times like these are always difficult. It amazes me how someone can hold on for certain ones to be there with them before they take their last breath.
