The other day I bought these cheap water beads from Walmart for the kids. I figured with it being school day out that the kids could see what happens over time. With water beads all you have to do is take the beads roughly 2 1 teaspoons full and dump them in. Add in a cup of water and let them sit for roughly for 24 hours. The beads soak up the water and get bigger as they soak up the water. Then you can play with them. I might go back later and get a bunch to put in the water tanks but we did several different colors and the kids seemed to like it.
