What I Do First Before I Decide To Follow A Fellow myLoter

I love to follow fellow myLoters who have sense of humor. But before I click the follow button, I go over first his/her profile: 1. To find out if a myLoter is a she or he. 2. To find out where he/she is from and 3. To learn what topics he/she loves to discuss. I have fun interacting with fellow myLoters, who have sense of humor. I hate jerks. Why is it necessary for me to know the home country of a fellow myLoter? It is because my comments are sometimes funny and silly. What is funny for Filipinos may not be for a myLoter from India or Burma. Finding out what topics a fellow myLoter loves to discuss is a must for me. I am reluctant to follow fellow myLoters who love to discuss topics about religion. I wish all myLoters should identify themselves whether they are female or male . . and humans. It is easy to do this. Just post your real picture in your profile or mention them in your short bio. That's what I did! Let us have fun here in myLot! Happy Thanksgiving to fellow myLoters south of the border!

I usually ask a member to mention his or her home country. Some posts are simply not understandable if they don't do this. (Example, "It's raining here."!!!) Yet, I've noticed that many of those who don't do this find that they are more interesting or mysterious if they leave us in the dark about their whereabouts. Maybe it spices up a boring life.

@myklj999 Today it's much warmer in the capital Tashkent than in the south of Germany. Surprising really as it is Central Asia. 13°C / 55°F. It may rain tomorrow. I'm glad to be able to satisfy your (fake) curiosity. :.-)

@myklj999 For me it is necessary to know where they are from. As I am more of an entertainer. As I mentioned, what may be funny for Filipinos may not be for a myLoter from India or Burma. I once posted a funny article about turbans. Here in Calgary all operators of bikes are required by the city to put on crash helmets; Calgarians wearing turbans protested. I suggested to wear a turban-like crash headgears. One male myLoter from India got mad at me because he claims that a turban is a religious headgear. LOL

It is raining here? Where is here?! LOL . . . One myLoter (based on her profile) is from the Philippines. She wrote "it is winter here!" . . So, I commented - - "It does not snow in the Philippines!" . . . She mentioned she is working abroad.

What if I'm neither male or female? There are a lot of jerks and arrogant fools here. I've met some old jerk here who is neither male or female.

@toniganzon it depends upon the situation. If there is one Holding a samurai other than you then I would surely hesitate. Ahahaha

That's what i always do too. I check on what kind of posts the myLottet make. If they are of same.inyerest to me, i follow. It is important too that he/she knows how to joke from time to.time.and knows how to discern which one is a joke.

When I am deciding who to follow I will comment on the post that I am reading and then go to their profile to see what other posts they have written. I try to make it a rule of thumb to read up to 2 posts they have written in the past and comment on them as well before moving on. Sometimes if I see more than those 2 that I can relate to etc. then I will actually "stalk" their posts to read and comment on other ones as well I am not so concerned with where they are from as long as they write posts that I can relate to, have something to say, and of course as long as I can understand them. I have also gotten into the habit of when someone comments on one of my posts, I try and return the favor by checking out their page and seeing what they have. That's when I will also do the above by checking out a few of them. Its not really returning the favor as its more about connecting with more people here to make friends and getting to know one another, but at the same time it returns the favor. I also believe that makes people more apt to check your posts out and also just make them feel like someone is actually there and interested in the things they have to say. *Just because of the topic of the post. If you were to check my page right now it is pretty bare with no info, no pictures, only 1 post, and only a few comments. That is because I started out as Crazzydolphin. I then decided that I was going to start completely over in which the admin helped me to do so. Then I wound up having to start over one more time and added the date to my original name. I did this a while back, left a comment or 2, and now I am back fully starting today. I am very happy about that but just in case you decided to try and check my profile you will understand why it is so bare. By the way I am from the US.* Hope you have a wonderful day today

I do more or less the same before deciding if to follow or not. I do not pretend to know the name of the city where myLotters live, but at least the country. I hate to read "in my country usually we eat..." and the country is not mentioned.

@antonbunot You are right, I have no doubts about you, JJ, Judy, Dianne and many users, but some put an animal as avatar and strange hieroglyphs as username, may be they are from another planet.

@LadyDuck LOL . . One thing that is puzzling to me is some myLoters post photos of animals or their favorite designs . . . and profile usernames that are initials or like a mathematical formula . . . And they don't mention whether they are male or female. Just reading my short profile bio . . one knows that I live in Calgary, Canada, and my profile photo is me when I was in my late 30's . . . and believing that women are the # 1 wonder of the world proves that I am a male .. . . Based on your profile photo and username, I have no doubt you are female since day one.

I think it is often easier to leave an intelligent comment if I know where the Mylotter lives. It also sometimes explains their poor grasp of the English language. Sometimes it helps me to understand their somewhat inappropriate comment.

You ate right, topics like politics and religion will just lead to arguments unless a fellow mylotter is open-minded.
