A sad event in life: sharing to feel better

I resisted sharing this news for a few days. I thought why should I share this? Do I want to have people sob for my problems? Do I want sympathies? What is it that I want? Still, I introspected and I am sharing this news so that I feel a bit light. The blow of the event would take time to settle in. However, it might help me a bit. What happened is that I had gone to attend something on Sunday 18th Nov, 2018. It was a place which was not a paid parking, but was not an unauthorized parking, and I used to park there many a times. When I came back from the place where I had work, I was shocked to see my car missing. I enquired the nearest Traffic Police Tow department. My car was not there. So, the news is that my car has been stolen. Was it a big car? A SUV? No. For some people, it was an ordinary entry level car. Yet for me, it was much more. It was a helper. And me and my family have emotional feelings with that car. It is gone now. And I do not expect much from local police. Their track record in such cases is pathetic. Some cases even have been of the cops' own cars getting stolen and not being retrieved. My times are tough. Going by Autos and Cabs is costlier, and riskier too at times. But I have to manage, and somehow get money for a new car, which is not easy. I just shared, and may be this would make me feel light. Folks, have a great weekend. May god bless you all, and not give you a bolt from the blue like I have got.

I feel your remorse from your lose. I think that that's the worst feeling you will every feel when something is taken from you without your permission. I just hope that karma would befall to those that did this to you. I believe that no matter how small or big the item is no one has any right to take it as theirs unless you have given it voluntarily.

@rsa101 yes it feels so sad that someone could forcibly steal what does not belong to them. And the law authorities are not proactive in such cases.

My goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!! I understand how you feel at present. Have you got insurance with your car? I hope by this way you will get some relief. I know it is terrible to loss something we treat as precious. But you have to move on and I am sure you will feel better on with passing days. I have heard many car stolen cases already and none of them got back it. Oh I remember, one, one of my colleague, years back, his car (maruti 800) had stolen that also infront of his eyes, (he was at his home on upper floor and watched some one took away his car) but was helpless. Almost an year after he got his car back, which was a big surprise, but many parts are missing from the car. So no need to believe you will get it back, our police are capable but sadly they do not try even a bit. (It has been said that police also have involvement with these kind of theft). Just sit and relax and try to get the insurance money then go for a new one/another one. Please don't feel bad on me, as I said my comments heartly and honestly.

I have the Insurance, RC, DL etc intact. There was a photocopy in the car, but since police and the Insurance companies have been informed, so I do not fear some blatant misuse. I know that some cities are known for big stolen cars markets and many a times, the thieves dispose off tyres, and other parts and sell them. There are chances of getting back, but very thin, as the police do not work on these cases as per their capability. Why they do so? Well, perhaps you have the answers yourselves.

@1hopefulman the problem here is that police is lethargic in most vehicle theft cases unless the vehicle is of a minister or some big Government official.

@allknowing I have but the cost of car after 7 years is almost 1/3rd of its purchase price. So I am short of funds to buy again. And with already some EMIs, it is tough to take another loan. And at present the shock is so much I can't take any decision.

I am sorry that your car got stolen. Here, too there are a lot of cars that got stolen. Usually, they are SUVs. Carnappers know what cars to steal. Don't worry, God knows you need a car so much. Just work hard to have it and in no time you will have one again.

@SIMPLYD it feels so sad that a person buys a vehicle with so much pains and sacrifices and a thief steals in an instant. It is taking time for me to come to terms with this event.

I am sorry your vehicle was stolen. I hope and pray, you will get it returned to you and you will not have the expense of buying a new one. I know the shock of what happened to you. I haven't had a car stolen, but I've had property damaged and destroyed.

@Icydoll the police is not helping much. But I am not shocked as police is more interested in helping people with more clout and for them it is just a theft of a single car.

I am sorry to hear this happened to you! The first car I ever bought on my own was stolen - but this was many years ago - I know that feeling of shock. After a few days from being stolen from my parents' driveway, it was located in a bad area of the city - parked and abandoned with everything taken off of it (they probably sold my car parts). Luckily my insurance covered it a little more than market value, but it was only enough for me to get a used car (not the same as my nice car that was stolen) - as I could not pay for more at the time. Luckily, too, that used car lasted me many good years without too many problems. Hang in there. It's good that you shared this - many of us have gone through it and can relate. I hope you can get another vehicle soon.

The frustrating part is that the police is not making much efforts to find it. And yes the insurance amount will only cover a part of expense of even buying a used car.
