I Have To Buy Vegetables

Today is Saturday.I have to buy some vegetables - brinjal, tomato and cauliflower. The vegetable vendor is selling fresh vegetables at the square at a stone's throw from my house.It would take me hardly five minutes to reach there and buy vegetables.
But the problem is the main road between me and him.He is there across the road and I am on this side.I can reach the road in one minute ,but there I would have to wait for at least 5-7 minutes waiting for the traffic to be cleared.
The most irritating and boring thing, in my opinion ,is crossing the road in my town.Every second man here owns a car.The main road is narrow.There is no traffic police here.If you have to cross the road and you are in a hurry, you may cross the road at your own risk.
But I have to buy vegetables.I have to cross the road bustling with huge traffic,buy vegetables and then cross the road again to come back to my house.I have to do all this no matter how irritating,boring and time consuming it is.

@Icydoll You are right.Mine is a small town.Here also a heavy traffic on a narrow road is a problem.

You have two hands, isn't it? Why can't you shown one of the hand and stop the vehicle then cross the road. Here in Delhi the busy roads, I used to cross this way. Even I did this way today morning. Since the bus stopped bit far from the bus stop, I have to walk double time for the foot over bridge, so I crossed the busy road with this way.

And yes, we have to stop vehicles and cross in that fashion in Delhi.

It may seem trivial to some but I know exactly the problem you are facing. Crossing the road in busy traffic is not easy.

@allknowing You are absolutely right.Crossing the road bustling with a huge traffic is very risky.Especially when there is no traffic police.

@jstory07 Yes, I'm safe ,because I never try to cross the main road in our town until thr traffic gets cleared.

This is the case in many cities. And many people park their vehicles in such a way that it blocks the traffic.

@ridingbet No,we have daily and weekly markets here.Fresh vegetables,ready made cloths,bangles and seeds are sold in these markets.

@anya12adwi First of all, they have planned to remove encroachment from the road in order to widen the road.But it is easier said than done.The buildings flanking the main road are owned by millionaire who have .an aged to get stay order.The conflict has been going on for decades.The much hyped master plan is on back burner.

@CarolDM I also love fresh vegetables.Everyday villagers come to our town to sell their stock.Fresh vegetables are sold here at reasonable rates.
