Thanksgiving and the following day

On thanksgiving my kids and I went to my parents house for dinner at 6. I didn’t like any of the new recipes I made but my parents and sister loved the Veggie Tortilla Roll Ups I made. I left all the food there with them to finish up for leftovers. I started my Christmas shopping that night. I bought a board game called “Escape Room in a box” for my brother in law and his girlfriend and their kids. I bought 3 lotions to put in with their gift and my grandmothers and father in laws/ his wife. The lotions were made by @AndriaPerry at Sunshine Homestead Creations. While at Thanksgiving dinner I gave mom her birthday/Christmas present. Her birthday isn’t until December 6 but with her asthma being so bad right now I thought giving her it now would be good. It is an air purifier. I got an email on Black Friday from Mypoints that it is my anniversary so at certain stores I would get double cash back. So I spent most the day pricing things between Walmart, eBay and Amazon. I got my nephew a bunch of Funko Pops figures on Walmart’s site. They had single ones for $1.99 and 3 packs for $4.99. Usually 3 packs are around $25 so I got some awesome deals on them! I played 4 rounds of swagIQ winning 16 points. My boyfriend came over and spent the night. He was walking outside to take the dogs out and a branch cut his eyeball We finished up 2 more episodes of “The Haunting of Hill House”. Photo is of the gift bag my mother’s present was in.

You seem to have done a lot of shopping. It's always good to get at least some of it out of the way.

@JudyEv I have a few more things to shop for on Monday but I am way ahead of the game compared to other years where I usually shop about 2 weeks ahead. One year we went out on Christmas Eve to shop before I had kids. The shelves were so bare at that point.

@shaggin It also spreads the cost if you can do some of the shopping early in the season.

@Tina30219 I don't even know when the last time I bought a gift bag was. All the ones I have were bags given to us with gifts in them. This was likely a bag my mom gave me that I now wound up giving back. I have a pretty large stash as she doesn't like to wrap gifts. I got out my Christmas decorations today and I found a stack of 7 Christmas books I haven't read. I was so excited to find It had so many to choose from. I didn't think I had that many left last year.

@Tina30219 My kids always preferred unwrapping gifts so I always wrap them. My mom has 6 grandkids plus two daughters so she would have a lot of wrapping to do. I can see why she chooses gift bags.

@shaggin That is cool you found more books to read. Gift bags are nice definitely saves on wrapping my mom has gotten that way lately about not liking to wrap presents.

Oh, my! How exhausted were you after all that shopping, Shaggin? I do hope you slept in the next few days to recuperate from that! While I do my Christmas shopping as early as I can, I am never done before Christmas eve! Good job on getting so much of it out of the way already!

In the past I have never shopped so early. I am pretty much done at this point. I spend hundreds less then I usually do so I am really glad for all the awesome deals I got. Thankfully it was all online shopping so it wasn't exhausting like walking around stores all day.

@DaddyEvil I used to do that when all my nieces and nephews and kids were little. I could find great deals on toys and save them for Christmas and birthdays. Now they are almost all older so it's harder to get things they like. I bought my nephew for Christmas 4 Funko pops sets that were on sale on walmarts website. He has to many that I jus asked him which sets he wanted and bought them.

@shaggin *smiling at you* I do Christmas shopping all year long. Every time I see something I believe Pretty or one of my friends might like (as long as I have the cash) I pick it up and put it in the back of my bedroom closet. But every year, I think of a "new" person I should get something for but haven't before Christmas is actually here. *shake my head*) Oh, very nice! (I think that might be considered cheating, though! )

Have you tried Jet.com? Sometimes they have items cheaper than any of those but mostly they earn higher %'s at Swagbucks, that I really like.

I always shop through mypoints I never even tried to see if I earn more points faster with shopping through Swagbucks. I have heard of jet.com but never knew what it was. I assumed it had something to do with traveling

Did your boyfriend get his eyeball checked out? If it's irritated still he may x want to consider it as it's better to prevent s problem from developing try to get it remedied later on. Will the purifier help your mom's asthma? Hopefully it will.

@MarshaMusselman I've had my cornea cut before but I have never looked in someone else's eye and saw a cut so it creeped me out pretty bad. He won't go to the doctor so hopefully it doesn't get infected. He said it only hurts if he touches his eyelid. Luckily the cut is under his eyelid so it's not exposed. I hope the air purifier will help a little. Her house is so cluttered from all my sister and her kids things that I imagine a lot of my mom's problems with asthma is from dust. I know dust has been bothering me really bad the past few months in my house.

@DianneN nothing I thought he was sleeping but after about an hour he told me he wasn't sleeping so I could talk. He said it just hurt to keep his eye open. It was pretty creepy to look in his eye and see a big slice across it. It was about 9 or so and the doctors offices were all closed so I said since he has good insurance it couldn't hurt to just go to the ER for some antibiotic drops. He said no. I told him an infection in the eye could cause blindness but he wouldn't go.

@marguicha yes she was happy. I originally planned to make her a mermaid sign as part of her gift but this was more of something that she could use then just a sign for her wall so it was a better choice. I'll save the mermaid sign for when I can't think of anything to get her.

@andriaperry No he wouldn't go to the ER He seems to be okay so as long as it doesn't get infected he will be fine but I really don't think it was a smart idea to not go and get antibiotic drops.
