There are some days that just go wrong!

I could not sleep and got up early. My intention was to do some surveys before I began working. However, there were no surveys. It was as if Monday morning ran dry before it began. Then I realised there was less in my bank than I thought, but I needed to transfer money from one account to another to pay the phone bill. Just as I began, the electricity went off. I had no money in the account I use a card for as I had not transferred it. Now I had no electricity, no Internet to transfer money into the right account to get the electricity, and the phone company had cut my phone off. So I went to use the Broadband at the garden centre. I tried to buy a coffee. My bank card pin number was stopped. I had exceeded the number of times you can try and put it in the cash card machine. The manager very kindly let me have the coffee on the house. I sat down to move the money into the right account and in the process, my phone began to talk back at me and I had accidentally started some accessibility thing. It froze the phone so I could not get into the phone app to move the money into my bank account. The garden centre kindly let me phone the bank. However, if they reset your pin, you then have to go to a cash machine to start it again before you can use it. That meant a drive to town with no petrol in the car. I got to town and put the card in the machine and finally sorted the money side of things out, Only, now it was lunchtime. I was exactly one minute late for Brunch it seemed. I ordered and sat down and wrestled with the phone which annoyed me and all the other diners for an entire lunch by inanely telling me what I was trying to do. Only the thing it would not do was let me access the screen where the settings icon is. Somewhere during lunch, I managed to work the phone so I rang the phone company and paid them, but I had to do that in the toilet for security reasons as I needed to say all the numbers. That is when I discovered the only toilet in the pub had no toilet paper. Finally, I got some shopping and drove home. For some reason, two buses came dangerously near my car on the way. I was not amused. When I got home I sat down to google how to sort my phone and the thing suddenly began to work and the strange voice on it disappeared. That is when I rang my mum who said she was having "one hell of a day." Then I talked to my daughter who said she was having "one hell of a day." Clearly our family was target of some gremiln that wanted us all to have a bad day! That is when I realised my neck problem had kicked in and had to reach for the codeine, meaning instead of working, I slept part of the afternoon and watched kittens on Youtube with Freya the cat. Finally, the surveys started to roll in and we are £1.56 richer. Freya can eat tomorrow. I am awake and may actually get something done. Only now it will be my online course and not serious money earning work. My brain is too fried for that! Tomorrow is another day, and I will begin again. At least, now, I have heat and light and can make a cup of coffee.

Oh, when it goes wrong, you just have to sleep and forget about it. Tomorrow is a new day.

There's an English saying that it never rains but it pours and even the rain outside has been raining quite hard this week and the wind has been blowing and it blew my table over and the huge vase on the table full of Earth that was supposed to stop the table from blowing away was blown away and has broken now. Just one of those weeks.

You wouldn't think that so many things could go so wrong in one day. I do hope tomorrow is much better.

For some reason it doesn't seem to be a great time at the moment but I suppose the Only Way Is Up

LOL it did not get better. I am in bed now, it is the middle of the night and at last, hoperully, barring the cat eating the laptop, nothing much can go wrong now!

@just4him Freya is still trying to eat my laptop and has such an obsession with it she won't go next door because there's no laptop there. I'm not quite sure what one does to break a cat of a laptop obsession.

@Jackalyn I think you were safe from the cat eating your laptop. I hope you had a good night's sleep.

It's Friday here and I think I should have stayed in my bubble all week because it just carried on and on in such a silly way. It's been a week of broken China, missing appointments, and all sorts of other things but the rent is paid and the phone hasn't been cut off so I suppose with food in the Larder everything is ok really.
