Are gas prices falling where you live?

I heard on the radio the other day that the price of oil has dropped to around $50/barrel. Oh, good, I thought. Gas prices should fall soon. Sure enough, the cost at my station went from about $3.59/gallon to $3.39/gallon. Gas prices are generally higher in California than elsewhere, which is odd, because I can smell the refineries when the wind is right. But I'm always happy when gas prices fall. Have gas prices fallen where you live? The photo is from three Summers ago in Lewistown Montana, where I visit our cabin every year.

I am always amused when I read Americans commenting on petrol (what you call "gas") prices. If you double them, you get close to what we pay in the UK, and we don't seem to complain anything like as much, despite our average salaries being way lower!

Because we are so spread out and most public transportation here is appalling, I imagine we use a lot more gas (petrol) than the average Englishman because of the number of miles we drive just to go to work, shopping, and for other things like doctors' appointments and haircuts. Very few of us have those things within walking distance of home.

@indexer some folk just don't know when they're well off! However I've no intention of emigrating, at least not in a westerly direction, no matter how cheap gas might be.

I never complain, though I pay attention. I'd rather use gas to get to work than not have a job.

Yes a tad. But not enough. LOL. I am left to wonder what is happening to your soya crop, now that it is not going to China and how Mr. Thump is going to manage economy going forward. Knee jerk reactions are not a good idea, be it outsourcing, or trade wars.

@TheHorse I am still Trump supporter. Just that... you can't add a teaspoon of salt to the curry and hope that it won't be salty...not the first time. LOL. He needed to go slow. Check what are the ramifications right to the bottom, and how much is the loss he would have to absorb. Outsourcing was definitely out. That said, withdraw 20 percent jobs, of which 5 in senior position, 5 in middle level, and 10 in low level. He would know if the country can manage to pay salaries to these people, and keep them employed for the rest of their lives within the US. Once he plugs in the loopholes, next 20 percent jobs can be brought back. I would have gone about it that way..

The corner store near my house had regular gas for $2.19 today. Other places between here and work it was $2.29. Those are down from $2.48 just before the holiday. Cheaper gas is the Saudis way of thanking our leader for not making a big issue out of a little torture and killing of a journalist.

There are apparently 3.7 litres in a US gallon and we pay upwards of $1,57c a litre. The prices seem to up and down at the whim of the outlet but I'm told the oil companies control the price. .

Yes gas prices have fallen. To around $1 per litre. Sadly, Alberta's economy is based on oil. Gas companies are asking for government assistance. The same companies who preach non government involvement most of the time.
