It's Hard To Feel Sympathy...

Hello fellow mylotters!! Hope all is well with everyone?? Some times we find people we may often feel sympathy for and then there are people we might want to feel sympathy for, but realize that we really can't because they are the reason. I kind of feel sorry for my mother-in-law, but I can't because I've seen how she has hurt some of her children. I know one is suppose to get along with your in-laws and I have and have tried but I give up because my mother-in-law alienates herself. She's alienated herself from me because she's said some hateful things to me and to my husband about me. Her latest alienation is one of her daughters!! I think it's hard for the woman that she alienates, because as a woman we want to please our elders/ mom. The men that she tries to alienate, don't care!! It's hard for me to feel sympathy for some one who causes or brings upon themselves why no one comes around them. You can't control other people's life or say hateful things to them and expect them to want to be around you. It would be different if you realize what you're doing and see that you are hurting the other person, but she doesn't..it's all about her and then she expects other people to feel sorry for her. Do you sometimes find it hard to feel sympathy for some one because they cause their own drama?? ~Peace!

Sometimes I feel that way reading Mylotters posts. If they would go back and read what they have posted over the years (not knowing they had written them) they would be appalled.....probably condemning the writer for being so foolish.

Oh yes. Every single day. She will probably always feel like she is the victim.

Oh yes. My brother and I had this discussion over Thanksgiving. You care about them, pray for them, but you see them making the same horrible decisions over and over again.

Yes I know exactly what you are saying. And then you have those who ask for sympathy and/or pity. Cannot tolerate that either.
