So your good intentions will take you to hell. Very confusing if you ask me unless those good intentions centre round oneself at the cost of another Examples: Robbing, killing, running away with someone else's partner..............Can you think of any other? Good intentions ofcourse - no doubt about that

I will just try to avoid what I can. I am not a religious man, so I do not fear hell. That being said I am also a cautious man, so I tend to not poke the bear either.

@allknowing We only survive as we live. When we die, there is nothing. In my opinion.

@porwest And yet every holy book be it the Bible, Kuran, ...........has dedicated pages to heaven and hell. Intriguing indeed.

All I know is that I always keep to my faith and say my prayers and as long as I don't kill anybody I think I will be alright.

Good intentions are of no use if they are not followed up with good actions.. no. I think I try to follow mine with good actions too... but who knows except the greatest Judge of all.

If you do not know if your intentions lead you to hell then you are safe. Ignorance is bliss

Is the image shows, the path to hell/heaven? I believe hell and heaven is in the earth itself. Whatever I do in my life, I am alone responsible for the same and I have to answer it. Whether it is good things or bad things. I have seen already, people are suffering for their bad deeds. So hell and heaven here itself and according to our acts.

Those are bad intentions unless you run away with someone else's partner because the baby is yours and you have to rob a bank to support the baby.

I don't think I've ever heard that saying in its entirety before and obviously it's incorrect. Mostly because not too many people will actually be heading to hell. The only hell will be eternity without consciousness as they will be stuck in the grave for eternity after the judgement.

@allknowing Thanks, but I'm not going to check that out. At least not now. I've discovered that there are a lot of sayings out there that I'm not familiar with. .Maybe that's because my mom knew more Polish than she did sayings that may have been common to others her age.

As a human being, I believe that there is no such as a perfect person. I know even those we think that are kind or good thinks a lot of bad thoughts. As long we are doing good in each person. Hell is just hell.

That bit of wisdom is taken so much out of context, but it is a truth to heed, if you can see the bigger picture. It applies to having good intentions in the things you do for others that may not be in the highest benefit of the person you are doing it for. For example, giving someone some well intended advice that wasn't asked for may lead to arguments or other such drama in the relationship. Although your heart was in the right place, it may not have been what the other person needed. I thought I was doing the best thing for my daughter when I gave custody of her to her father and stepmother. I was a single mom on welfare, with no car or other means to properly take care of her. They, on the other hand, both were working, had a car, lived in a better neighborhood and seemed much better equipped to take care of her. It wasn't an easy decision for me to make but I wasn't seeing the bigger picture. It was a decision I have come to sincerely regret as my daughter was terribly abused by her stepmother while her father stood by and let it happen. My daughter is suffering many mental issues now in her adult years and lives in a group home far away from any family. (Her father put her there) My "Good intentions" backfired explosively. The regret, guilt and shame I feel now is a living hell for me and my daughter.

God knows best as in circumstances such as yours your intentions were never such that they paved a way to hell.
